
Buckeyes Fall to Huskies in 11 Innings

Game Recap
- The Buckeyes took an early lead in game two of their series with the Huskies. With one out in the top of the first, Henry Kaczmar walked and he advanced to second on a failed pick-off attempt. A single from Noah Furcht put two runners on for Ohio State. A double down the left field line from Mason Eckelman sent Kaczmar home to put the Buckeyes on the board. A single from Alex Bemis scored Furcht and put Ohio State ahead of the Huskies, 2-0.
- In the bottom of the first, the Huskies cut the Buckeye lead in half, 2-1, after a solo home run.
- Kaczmar doubled to right center to lead off the third inning. Furcht reached base on a Husky error and Kaczmar advanced to third to put runners on the corners. A sacrifice fly from Eckelman scored Kaczmar. With two outs, Furcht swiped second and he was driven in on a single from Dane Harvey to put the Buckeyes ahead by three, 4-1.
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Huskies tied the score, 4-4, after an RBI single and a two-RBI single.
- In the top of the sixth, Steven Cavaco and Miles Vandenheuvel drew back-to-back walks, but they were stranded.
- In the bottom of the ninth, with the score still tied 4-4, reliever Ryan Zamora worked out of a jam with two runners on base for the Huskies, striking out two of five faced to send the game to extras.
- Eckelman led off with a single in the top of the 10th inning, but he was left on base.
- One Husky reached base in the bottom of the 10th, but the Buckeyes held steady on defense to keep the score tied.
- With one out in the top of the 11th, Ellis and Vandenheuvel drew consecutive walks, but there was nothing else doing for the Buckeyes in the top half of the inning.
- In the bottom of the 11th inning, the lead-off batter was walked, followed by a sacrifice bunt to advance him to second base. A single to shallow left field put runners on the corners for the Huskies, and a single through the right side sent the winning run home as the Buckeyes fell Washington, 5-4.
- Chris Domke had an impressive start for the Buckeyes. He tossed a career-high 7.0 innings and fanned seven batters to tie his career-high. He gave up four runs on four hits in a no-decision.
- Out of the bullpen, Zamora struck out a career-high five batters and allowed just one hit in 3.0 innings tossed.
- Lincoln McVicker (0-1) took the loss on the mound, giving up one run on two hits in a third of an inning pitched.
- Eckelman led the Buckeyes with two hits and two RBIs.
- The Buckeyes and Huskies conclude their series on Sunday, March 15 at 4 p.m. ET.
