The Ohio State specialty license plate program began in 1992 through State of Ohio legislation, and is administered by the Office of Trademark and Licensing Services. All net revenues from the sales of Ohio State specialty plates are contributed annually to the general scholarship fund, and have contributed over $5 million to date.
