
Three Buckeyes Earn All-Big Ten Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Henry Kaczmar, Blaine Wynk and Gavin DeVooght have all earned all-conference honors, announced by the Big Ten on Tuesday. Kaczmar was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team, Wynk was selected to the All-Big Ten Third Team and DeVooght earned Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors.
Kaczmar, who earned All-Freshman honors last year, has started all 52 games at shortstop this season. He leads the Buckeyes with 67 hits and 50 runs scored. He is batting .318 and has added eight doubles, two triples and seven home runs and he has driven in 34 runs. Kaczmar has a .952 fielding percentage and has 78 putouts and 141 assists. Kaczmar was named to the Brooks Wallace Award watch list as one of the top 100 shortstops in the country.
Wynk has picked up two wins on the mound in his first season as a Buckeye. He has made 20 appearances in relief and has fanned 36 batters in 36.1 innings pitched. He has recorded two saves and has a 2.97 ERA, which is the best among the Ohio State pitching staff.
After starting the season as a reliever, DeVooght entered the rotation as the Buckeyes' Sunday starter. He has made 17 total appearances and started on the mound seven times. DeVooght has struck out 36 in 42.2 innings tossed and has a 2-3 record. He has a 4.22 ERA.
The Big Ten also announced each school's Sportsmanship Award winners. Mitchell Okuley is the honoree for the Buckeyes. Okuley served as a team captain this season and truly embodies what it means to be a Buckeye. In addition to being a great teammate, Okuley is having a career-best season, batting .314 with 58 hits, 16 doubles, 4 RBIs and 39 runs scored.
