Dingler Named to Buster Posey Award Watch List

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior catcher Dillon Dingler has been named to the watch list for the 2020 Buster Posey Catcher of the Year Award, the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced. Dingler is one of 60 candidates up for the award given to the top Division I collegiate catcher.
Dingler, a two-time team captain, has started 12 the Buckeyes’ 13 games this season, batting .333 with a team-high four doubles, a triple, four home runs, 11 runs scored and 11 RBI. The North Canton, Ohio, native who blasted three home runs and drove in five in a 10-2 win at North Florida Tuesday night, is slugging .733 and reaching base at a .404 clip. Dingler has a team-high four multi-hit games and three multiple-RBI contests and is riding a team-high six game hitting streak.
The Buckeyes conclude their five-game Florida swing with a 2:05 p.m. matchup at North Florida Wednesday before returning to Columbus to host Liberty in a three-game home-opening series this weekend. The Buckeyes take on the Flames at 5:05 p.m. Friday, 3:05 p.m. Saturday and 1:05 p.m. Sunday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium.
