Elliott McCummings was named to the Ohio State coaching staff on July 31, 2024.Â
McCummings joined the Buckeyes after three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at North Carolina A&T. In addition to spearheading recruiting efforts, he primarily worked with the outfielders and assisted with the offense. Prior to North Carolina A&T, McCummings spent one season at Austin Peay, where he worked with the outfielders and hitters and was the Governors’ camp director.

McCummings spent the 2019 season as a volunteer assistant at Radford. The Highlanders went 30-7 that season and had a 19-8 Big South record. He began his coaching career in 2018 as an assistant at Louisberg College.
McCummings began his collegiate playing career at Potomac State College, where he was an NJCAA Second Team Freshman All-American n 2013 and helped the Catamounts to a Region XX Championship. He finished his junior college career as Potomac’s career hits leader with 143. McCummings finished out his career at Jacksonville State, where he played two seasons and was a career .320 hitter. He graduated from Jacksonville State with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2017.
