Buckeyes Host Spartans, Play at Huntington Park Friday Night

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team (24-21, 13-11 Big Ten) hosts Michigan State (17-28, 10-17 Big Ten) for its final home Big Ten series Friday, May 8-Sunday, May 10.
On Friday, the Buckeyes will host the Spartans at Huntington Park, home of the Columbus Clippers. It is the first-ever regular season game Ohio State will play there.

- Friday's game at Huntington Park will get underway at 6 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets HERE.
- Saturday (3 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.) will be played back at Bill Davis Stadium. Saturday will be the Our Honor Defend Military and First Responders Appreciation game and Sunday will feature Mother's Day recognition, as well as postgame player cards and kids run the bases.
- All three games will air on B1G+.
- Loge box seats are on sale now, featuring premium comfort, prime views, and the convenience of mobile delivery from the concession stand. Loge box tickets can be purchased HERE.
- Fans can purchase single game tickets HERE or on the TicketMaster app. Tickets can also be purchased at the ticket office at the Schottenstein Center or at Bill Davis Stadium on gameday. The ticket office will open 60 minutes prior to the start of each game. Students can get in for free with their BuckID.
- Free parking will be available in the lots surrounding Bill Davis Stadium.
- The Buckeyes swept a three-game series against No. 16 Nebraska over the weekend. It is the first time in program history Ohio State has swept the Cornhuskers.
- Ohio State took game one on Friday, 2-1. Gavin Kuzniewski (4-2) was dominant on the mound. He pitched a career-high 8.0 innings and struck four, while giving up just one run on four hits. Ryan Zamora earned his third save of the season; he struck out one in 1.0 scoreless, hitless innings. Maddix Simpson led the Buckeyes with two hits.
- On Saturday, the Buckeyes defeated the Cornhuskers, 7-3, to secure the series win. Mason Eckelman led the Buckeyes with three hits and five RBIs, and he was just a single shy of hitting for the cycle. Chris Domke (5-5) earned the win. He fanned two and gave up just two runs on four hits in 7.0 innings tossed.
- The Buckeyes completed the series sweep with a 10-1 victory on Sunday. Ohio State hit seven home runs in the game, the most for the team in a single game since 2009. Eckelman and Noah Furcht each hit two home runs in the game. Simpson, Dane Harvey and Henry Kaczmar each had a long ball as well. Furcht and Eckelman led the team with three hits each and Simpson had a team-high three RBIs. Pierce Herrenbruck (5-3) earned the win after striking out four and allowing just one run on five hits in 7.0 innings pitched. Jake Michalak fanned four in 2.0 scoreless, hitless innings of relief.
- The series against the Cornhuskers is the fifth series the Buckeyes have swept this season. Ohio State has swept Big Ten series against Minnesota, Maryland and Nebraska.
- Kaczmar leads the Buckeyes at the plate, batting .324 and he has a team-high 60 hits, including a team-high 21 doubles. Kaczmar also leads the team in runs scored with 43. He has batted in 37 runs and is 6-for-7 in stolen bases.
- Harvey leads the Buckeyes with 15 home runs and 50 RBIs. He is batting .319.
- Eckelman is batting .316 with 50 hits, 12 doubles, eight home runs, 43 RBIs and 37 runs scored.
- Lee Ellis leads the team in stolen bases; he has swiped 15 bags on 17 attempts.
- On the mound, Kuzniewski (4-2) leads the pitching staff with 56 strikeouts in 63.1 innings pitched.
- Domke (5-5) has fanned 49 in 59.0 innings tossed.
- Herrenbruck (5-3) has notched 47 strikeouts in 62.1 innings, and he leads the pitching staff with a 4.33 ERA.
- Zamora (2-0) leads the pitching staff in saves with three. He has struck out 32 in 31.1 innings.
- The Buckeyes are seventh in the Big Ten standings. The top 12 teams will compete in the Big Ten Tournament in Omaha, Neb.
- Kaczmar leads the conference with 21 doubles.
- Eckelman and Ellis are tied for first in the conference in triples with four each.
- Harvey's 15 home runs are fourth-most in the Big Ten and his 50 RBIs are tied for seventh-most. His .717 slugging percentage is third and his 1.121 OPS is sixth.
- Zamora's three saves are tied for seventh-most among Big Ten pitchers.
- Ohio State's 88 doubles are tied for fifth-most and its 13 triples are second-most. The teams' 66 home runs are third-most and the team has the seventh-best slugging percentage (.476).
- The Buckeyes' combined ERA of 5.77 is seventh in the conference.
- The Buckeyes close out their home schedule at Bill Davis Stadium against Wright State on Tuesday, May 12 at 6 p.m.
