Eckelman Named Big Ten Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State baseball junior catcher, Mason Eckelman, has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.
Eckelman, who collects his first career weekly conference award, had a stellar weekend as the Buckeyes swept a three-game series against No. 16 Nebraska.
Eckelman batted .600 on the weekend. He had six hits, which included three home runs, a triple and a double. He had seven RBIs and scored four runs.
Eckelman had three hits in both Saturday and Sunday's games, and he was just a single shy of hitting for the cycle on Saturday. On Sunday, Eckelman hit two home runs.
On the season, Eckelman is batting a career-best .316 with 50 hits, 12 doubles, four triples, right home runs, 43 RBIs and 37 runs scored.
The Buckeyes are back in action on Tuesday, May 5 when they host Miami (OH) at 6 p.m.
