Buckeyes Take on Marshall Wednesday Night

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team (19-15) closes out a nine-game home stand when the Buckeyes host Marshall (16-18) on Wednesday, April 15 at 6 p.m. at Bill Davis Stadium.

- Free parking will be available in the lots surrounding Bill Davis Stadium.
- After dropping the opening game in a series against Penn State, the Buckeyes bounced back to win the remaining two games and take the series. It was the Buckeyes' fourth straight series win and third straight Big Ten series win.
- In the series-opener, Ohio State fell to Penn State, 10-6. Henry Kaczmar and Miles Vandenheuvel led the team in hits with two each. Jake Michalak (5-1) took the loss; he struck out two and allowed five runs on five hits in 1.0 inning pitched.
- The Buckeyes evened the series with a 3-2 victory in game two. Noah Furcht led the team with two hits. Chris Domke (4-3) earned the win. Domke struck out three and gave up one run on seven hits in 5.2 innings pitched. Ryan Zamora earned his second save of the season. In 2.0 innings tossed, he struck out two and allowed one run on two hits.
- Ohio State took the series finale, 15-10. Jacob Parr led the Buckeyes with a career-high three hits and Parr and Kaczmar, who had a grand slam, each had four RBIs. Pierce Herrenbruck (4-1) was the winning pitcher. He gave up five earned runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings pitched.
- Kaczmar leads the Buckeyes at the plate, batting .329 and he has a team-high 46 hits. He has batted in 31 runs and is 6-for-7 in stolen bases.
- Noah Furcht is also batting over .300 for the Buckeyes. He is hitting .317 with 40 hits and 22 RBIs, and he is 6-for-7 in swiped bags.
- Mason Eckelman and Dane Harvey are tied for the team lead in RBIs with 33 each.
- Harvey and Alex Bemis lead the Buckeyes in home runs with seven each.
- Lee Ellis leads the Buckeyes in stolen bases; he has swiped 13 bags on 14 attempts.
- On the mound, Gavin Kuzniewski (2-1) leads the pitching staff with 46 strikeouts in 45.1 innings pitched.
- Chris Domke (4-3) has fanned 43 in 43.2 innings tossed.
- Herrenbruck (4-1) has notched 35 strikeouts in 43.1 innings, and he leads the pitching staff with a 4.36 ERA.
- The Herd are coached by former Ohio State head coach Greg Beals.
- Outfielder Evan Bottone leads the Herd at the plate, batting .381. He has a team-high 51 hits and is a team-best 7-for-7 in stolen bases.
- Outfielder Cooper Hinson leads the team in RBIs with 29. He is batting .350.
- On the mound, Bryce Blevins (6-2) leads the pitching staff with 57 strikeouts in 63.0 innings pitched.
- Charlie Krebs lead the pitching staff in saves with three.
- The Buckeyes head to Purdue for a three-game conference series Friday, April 17-Sunday, April 19.
