
Buckeyes Win Series in Ann Arbor for First Time Since 1999

Game Recap
- Dane Harvey and Maddix Simpson hit back-to-back singles to lead off the top of the second inning for the Buckeyes. A single from Lee Ellis drove in Harvey to give the Buckeyes a 1-0 lead over the Wolverines.
- The Wolverines took the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second inning after scoring on an RBI groundout and a sacrifice bunt.
- In the top of the fifth inning, a no-doubter from Grant Mangrum over the left field wall tied the score, 2-2.
- Back-to-back singles from Henry Kaczmar and Noah Furcht opened the sixth inning for the Buckeyes. Harvey drove in Kaczmar on a single to right center to reclaim the lead for Ohio State. A sacrifice fly from Simpson plated Furcht to give the Buckeyes a two-run lead, 4-2.
- In the bottom of the sixth, a solo home run from the Wolverines cut the Ohio State lead to one, 4-3.
- With one out in the top of the seventh inning, Alex Bemis was hit by a pitch, Kaczmar then hit a double off his former teammate Gavin DeVooght to put two runners on, but they were left on base.
- Mason Eckelman walked to lead off the eighth, followed by back-to-back hit-by-pitches for Ellis and Mangrum to load the bases. With one out, Bemis singled through the left side to drive in two runs. A sacrifice fly from Furcht sent Mangrum home to give Ohio State a 7-3 lead over Michigan.
- With bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, Luke Carrell came out to the mound and worked out of the jam for the final out to secure the series win for the Buckeyes.
- Kaczmar's double was his conference-leading 24th of the season. He is one double shy of tying the Ohio State single season program record.
- Kaczmar and Harvey led the Buckeyes in hits with two each and Bemis had a team-high two RBIs.
- Gavin Kuzniewski (6-2) earned the win on the mound. He struck out three and gave up three runs on four hits in 6.0 innings pitched.
- Lincoln McVicker fanned three in 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
- The Buckeyes and Wolverines conclude their series on Saturday, May 16 at 1 p.m.
