
Bemis Named Big Ten Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State baseball junior outfielder Alex Bemis was named the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.
Bemis had a strong week as the Buckeyes went 4-0 last week, helping the team to an extra-inning win at Xavier on Wednesday, March 18 and a three-game sweep of Butler at home over the weekend.
Bemis' best game of the week came on Sunday in the Buckeyes' series finale against Butler. He hit a career-high two home runs, one of which was a grand slam. He totaled a career-high six RBIs in the game.
Bemis was also one of the team leaders against Butler on Saturday as he notched a career-high three hits, a then-career-high three RBIs and a career-high four runs scored.
On the week, Bemis batted .467 with seven hits, three home runs, 11 RBIs and nine runs scored. He had multiple hits in two out of four game and had at least one home run in two games.
In his first season with the Buckeyes, Bemis is batting .313 with 21 hits, four home runs, 18 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
The Buckeyes are back in action on Tuesday, March 24 at Wright State at 5 p.m.
