
Baseball to Host Scarlet & Gray World Series This Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fans will have a chance to get their first look at the Ohio State baseball team this week as the Buckeyes host a Scarlet & Gray World Series.
Game and Parking Information
- The Scarlet & Gray World Series is a three-game series. Game one will be Thursday, Nov. 7 at 4:00 p.m., game two is Friday, Nov. 8 at 5:00 p.m. and game three is Sunday, Nov. 10 at 1:00 p.m.
- Admission is free and gates will open one hour prior to gametime.
- Paid parking will be available in the lots surrounding Bill Davis Stadium. Fans can use the ParkMobile app or the pay-by-plate machines in the lot.
Team Scarlet Notes
- Team Scarlet will be coached by Director of Player Personnel & Development Jordan Stampler and Director of Program Development Harrison Mohr.
- The team includes seven returning players from last year’s squad and 16 newcomers.
- Southpaw Sahil Patel was the number one overall pick in the draft. He is a redshirt-sophomore transfer from North Greenville University. During the 2023 season, he made nine appearances on the mound and struck out 14 in 9.1 innings tossed.
- Senior Tyler Pettorini led the Buckeyes last season in RBIs (49) and home runs (nine). He batted .309 with 68 hits and 38 runs scored.
- Freshmen infielder Ty Fox, right-handed pitcher Noah LaFine and left-handed pitcher Tannis Lange were all named to Perfect Game’s 500 Fresh Arrivals on Campus list. Last season at Brother Rice, Fox batted .419 with 24 RBIs. LaFine was a four-year letterwinner at Archbishop Hoban and finished his high school career with over 200 strikeouts. Lange attended Waukesha South in Wisconsin, where he earned first team all-conference and second team all-state honors.
- Sophomore Mason Eckelman will be behind the dish for Team Scarlet.

Team Gray Notes
- Director of Recruiting Elliott McCummings and Director of Pitching Development Griffin Parrill will serve as the coaches for Team Gray.
- The team is made up of 11 returning players and 11 newcomers.
- Seniors Trey Lipsey and Nick Giamarusti anchor the outfield. Last season, Lipsey batted in 42 runs and scored 41. Giamarusti was nearly perfect in stolen bases, going for 15-for-17.
- Junior Matthew Graveline batted .281 last season with 56 hits, 44 runs scored and 14 doubles.
- Reggie Bussey, a junior transfer from Oakland, batted .336 with 74 hits, 31 RBIs and had a team-high 31 stolen bases in 2024.
- On the mound, junior righty Blaine Wynk led the Buckeyes in 2024 with a 3.38 ERA over 40.0 innings tossed. He fanned 38 and also notched two saves.
- Junior southpaw Hunter Shaw made 17 appearances in 2024, striking out 24 in 28.1 innings pitched.
