
Harvey Ties Single Season Home Run Record in 13-2 Win Over Michigan

Game Recap
- With one out in the bottom of the first inning, Henry Kaczmar was walked. Harvey hit a two-out single to advance Kaczmar to third and put runners on the corners, but they were stranded.
- The Wolverines took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning after a bases-loaded hit by pitch.
- In the top of the fourth inning, Harvey tied the score, 1-1, with his 18th home run of the season.
- With one out in the top of the fifth inning, Alex Bemis was walked. Kaczmar stepped up to the dish next, and he went yard to give the Buckeyes their first lead of the day. With two outs, Harvey drove another ball out of the park, tying the program record with his 19th homer of the season, to give Ohio State a 4-1 lead over the Wolverines.
- Michigan added a run in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI single to cut the Buckeye lead to two, 4-2.
- Lee Ellis singled to right center to lead off the sixth inning, and he advanced to second on a wild pitch. Miles Vandenheuvel then hit an infield single, moving Ellis to third. A single from Bemis sent Ellis home and put Ohio State back ahead by three, 5-2.
- Noah Furcht led off with a home run over the wall in left center in the top of the seventh inning to extend the Ohio State lead. An RBI single from Ellis and a two-RBI single from Vandenheuvel gave the Buckeyes a comfortable 9-2 lead over the Wolverines. With bases loaded, a sacrifice fly from Kaczmar added a run for the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes batted around and when Furcht stepped up to the plate, he hit his second home run of the inning, plating three runs to put Ohio State ahead by 11, 13-2.
- The Buckeyes allowed just one base runner in the bottom of the seventh inning and held the Wolverines scoreless to come away with the run-rule 13-2 victory.
- Harvey's 19th home run of the season ties him with Zach Dezenzo (2022) and Dan Seimitz (1997) for the program record in single-season home runs.
- Three Buckeyes this season have hit double-digit home runs; Harvey (19), Kaczmar (11) and Furcht (11). It is the first time the Buckeyes have had three players hit double-digit long balls since the 2019 season. It is the third time this season Harvey has hit two home runs in a game and second time Furcht has hit two home runs in a game.
- Harvey led the Buckeyes with three hits, while Furcht, Ellis and Vandenheuvel each added two.
- Furcht had a team-high four RBIs. Kaczmar batted in three runs.
- Pierce Herrenbruck (6-3) earned the win on the mound. He fanned four and allowed two runs on five hits in 6.0 innings pitched.
- The Buckeyes and Wolverines continue their series Friday, May 15-Saturday, May 16. Friday's game will begin at 4 p.m. and Saturday's game will get underway at 1 p.m.
