COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team continues its nine-game homestand, hosting Ohio at 6:35 p.m. ET Tuesday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. The Buckeyes are 9-14 overall and 0-3 in Big Ten play, while the Bobcats are 11-11 overall and 0-0 in MAC action.

NOTES ON THE BUCKEYES
- The 2017 campaign marks the 134th season of Ohio State baseball and 21st at Bill Davis Stadium.
- The team is led by seventh-year head coach Greg Beals, who led the Buckeyes to a Big Ten tournament championship and NCAA Regional in 2016.
- The Buckeyes are in the midst of a nine-game homestand after going 8-8 overall following the first four weeks on the road to start the year.
- The team is led by a five-member senior class that includes four fifth-year seniors: Jake Post, Shea Murray, Joe Stoll and Zach Ratcliff.
- Senior infielder Jalen Washington and redshirt junior pitcher Adam Niemeyer were both named captains for the Scarlet and Gray.
- Washington was named a Senior CLASS Award candidate, the organization announced Monday.
- Seth Kinker was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason Stopper of the Year Watch List.
- Yianni Pavlopoulos joined Washington and Kinker on the B1G Players to Watch List.
- Ohio State welcomed 15 newcomers to the 35-man roster, including seven junior college transfers.
- The Buckeyes went 3-3 in road games and 5-5 in neutral site contests to begin the season. Highlighting the early part of the schedule were ranked wins over then-No. 5 and No. 1 Oregon State (6-1; Feb. 24) and No. 24 FGCU (5-4, March 12).
- Last time out, Ohio State was swept by Minnesota to open Big Ten play.
- Tre’ Gantt leads the team with a .329 batting average, collecting six doubles, two triples and two home runs.

SCOUTING OHIO
The Bobcats are 11-11 heading to Columbus after being swept by Butler over the weekend in Athens, Ohio. As a team, Ohio is hitting .254 and holds a fielding percentage of .985. Michael Klein is batting .299 (26-for-87) with 11 runs scored and nine RBI. Another notable Bobcat is Senior Spencer Ibarra, batting .291 (25-for-86) with 14 runs scored and 12 RBI. Both players have a team-high four home runs this season. Left-hander Butch Baird is 3-0 in 36.0 innings pitched with an ERA of 2.75 and 27 strikeouts. Â
LAST TIME VS. THE BOBCATS
The Buckeyes defeated the Bobcats in Athens, 6-3, to improve to 15-7-1 just under a year ago on March 29, 2016. Ryan Feltner recorded his first collegiate win throwing 5.2 innings, holding the Bobcats scoreless until the sixth. The Buckeyes lead the all-time series, 83-40, vs. Ohio. Ohio State is 45-20 in home games in the series.

- Brady Cherry batted .444 (4-for-9) with two doubles and two runs scored.
- Jalen Washington knocked two triples in the series.
- Noah West hit his first career home run in game two, while Tyler Cowles homered for the third time this season.
