Gray Defeats Scarlet, 2-1, in Game Three of S&G Series – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – In game three of the Scarlet and Gray World Series, Gray captured a 2-1 victory at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. Gray takes a 2-1 lead with the Tuesday victory on the banks of the Olentangy River. Right-hander Seth Kinker was solid on the hill for five innings for the Gray squad, which posted a run in the third and fourth innings, respectively.
Ronnie Dawson plated a run in the bottom of the third with an opposite field single to left to plate Jacob Barnwell. The Gray made it 2-0 in the following inning when Casey Demko knocked a two-out double down the left field line to score Daulton Mosbarger from first base.
On the hill, Kinker allowed no runs on two hits, two walks with three strikeouts to claim the victory. Curtiss Irving allowed one in the sixth inning, but kept the 2-1 lead when he induced a groundout to third base. Mosbarger closed the game with a 1-2-3 seventh.
Scarlet scored its lone run of the game when pinch-hitter Azim Qadri had a RBI groundout to second base. Dawson went 2-for-3 on the evening with one RBI for the evening, while Mosbarger went 2-for-2 with a run to lead Gray. Senior infielder Nick Sergakis recorded a stolen base and two hits for Scarlet.
The series continues at 6 p.m. ET Friday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. Admission is free for all five contests.
