Tyler Hollick Joins 2012-13 Recruiting Class – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State head coach Greg Beals announced Monday outfielder Tyler Hollick has joined the Buckeyes’ 2012-13 recruiting class. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Hollick becomes the ninth member of Beals’ second recruiting class at Ohio State.
“Tyler is a great addition to our recruiting class,” Beals said. “He brings big-time speed to our team – this is something that we are very excited about adding to our offense. I have been very pleased with our other Chandler-Gilbert guys and I know that if he plays two years for Coach (Russ) Luce and his staff that he will be well prepared for Division 1 baseball. I foresee Tyler making an immediate impact to the top of our batting order.”
At Chandler-Gilbert Community College in Arizona, Hollick led the Coyotes with a .397 batting average, scoring 47 runs and reaching base at a .480 clip. He earned first team All-ACCAC honors and garnered first team All-Region laurels.
“Having the chance to become a Buckeye is a true honor,” Hollick said. “I feel that under Coach Beals, and with the right group of players, we have an opportunity to do something really special. I want to come in and play my part the best I can and help the team win in any way possible.”
Hollick graduated from Holy Trinity Academy in Okotoks, Alberta, and plans on majoring in exercise science.
