College Station, Texas – The Ohio State baseball team arrived in College Station, Texas Thursday and held practice at Texas A&M’s Olsen Field, site of NCAA regional action Friday-Monday. The Buckeyes took batting practice and later met with media.
No. 3 seed Ohio State (37-22) faces No. 2 Louisiana-Lafayette (43-15) at 2 p.m. ET Friday. Top-seed and host Texas A&M (44-16) takes on Le Moyne (34-17) at 8 p.m. ET Friday. The double-elimination tournament runs through Monday.
After batting practice, four members of the team took part in a media press conference, where head coach Bob Todd announced Jake Hale, a sophomore, as Ohio State’s starting pitcher Friday vs. ULL. Hale spent most of the season as the Buckeyes’ closer out of the bullpen, but went 2-1 down the stretch as a starter.
