Jacob Howell Named Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State outfielder Jacob Howell was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-America Baseball Team, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper announced Friday.
Howell, a red-shirt freshman from Ashland, Ohio (Ashland), was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and Second-Team All-Big Ten selection after posting a .336 batting average, the second best on the team. He started in right field in 58 of the 60 games he played and had a .994 fielding percentage. He had 81 hits in 241 at bats and had eight doubles, four triples and two home runs to drive in 27 runs, while scoring 41 times himself. Additionally, he stole 11 bases and had three sacrifice flies and seven sacrifice hits. He batted .380 in the team’s 31 conference games and then got 12 hits in the Big Ten Tournament, to earn a spot on the Big Ten All-Tournament team.
