MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Ohio State found it will play Indiana in its opening game of the Big Ten Tournament at Minnesota’s Siebert Field Thursday at 4:35 p.m. The Buckeyes took two of three games at Indiana earlier this season.
After a first-round bye, the second-seeded Buckeyes will play the fourth-seeded Hoosiers, which beat fifth-seeded Iowa 7-4 in the opening game of the tournament. In other Wednesday action, sixth-seeded Northwestern upset third-seeded Michigan State 4-2.
Ohio State plays Indiana since it was the highest seeded winner, while top-seeded Minnesota, the host school, plays Northwestern since it was the lowest seeded winner on Wednesday. That game will be at 8:05 p.m. on Thursday. The day gets underway at 1:05 p.m. with a loser’s bracket game between Iowa and Michigan State.
If Ohio State gets past Indiana, it would play at 7:05 p.m. on Friday against the winner of the Minnesota vs. Northwestern game. Should the Buckeyes lose, they would play at 1:05 p.m. on Friday.
