At the South Bend Regional, Lewis pitched another nine-inning complete game in a 6-4 elimination victory over South Alabama. He struck out 10 Jaguar batters without a walk. He finished the year with six complete games.
This is the fourth year for the NCBWA Preseason All-America teams.

Joining the Buckeyes and Cardinals in the tournament will be Oklahoma and Southwest Missouri State. All four teams participated in the NCAA tournament in 2002.
