COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team travels to Geneva, Ohio for the 2022 Big Ten Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday. Competition will begin at 10:50 a.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday. The meet will be streamed on B1G+ (subscription required) with different watch links for track and field each day (see above).
- Last season, the Buckeye men finished third at the Big Ten Indoor Championships and the women finished eighth.
- The Ohio State women were ranked 13th in the latest USTFCCCA weekly poll on Monday.
- Anavia Battle was named USTFCCCA National Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday and Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday after winning the 60m and 200m last weekend at the Arkansas Qualifier. Her 200m time (22.49) was the second-fastest in the country this season and was a meet record and indoor personal best for Battle.
- Adelaide Aquilla remained on the Bowerman Watch List midway through the indoor season.
- Both the Ohio State men and women have five individual top-25 rankings.
- On the women’s side, Battle leads the team with a No. 2 ranking in the 200m (22.49) and a No. 13 ranking in the 60m (7.24) while Aquilla leads the country in shot put (19.09m). On high jump, Amaya Ugarte is ranked 12th (1.84m). Jaimie Robinson is ranked 17th in the triple jump (13.35m).
- On the men’s side, Clarence Foote-Talley is No. 5 in the triple jump (16.38m) and tied for 25th in the high jump (2.16m). Tyler Johnson is ranked 13th in the 400m (46.27), while Luke Bendick is 18th in the pole vault (5.37m) and Eric Harrison is tied for 24th in the 200m (20.88).
- During the regular season, the Buckeye women totaled 19 individual wins from 11 individuals. Battle leads the squad with six victories.
- On the men’s side, 11 different student-athletes earned a total of 13 victories in addition to a DMR win. Tyler Johnson and Shaun Miller Jr. lead the Buckeye men with two individual wins apiece.
