Buckeyes Establish Two Program Records on First Day of NCAA Championships

Ohio State earned two entries into Friday’s men’s finals.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team competed at the first day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships today in Eugene, Ore.
The Buckeye men took center stage at Hayward Field, competing in four different semifinal races. Braxton Brann took full advantage of the opportunity in the men's 110m hurdles, registering a time of 13.17 and setting the Ohio State program record in the event for the third time in his last three races. The junior earned an automatic qualification into Friday's 110m hurdles final.
Brann was also a member of the Buckeyes' 4x100m relay squad that established a school record of their own. Dominic Calhoun, Kyler Brown and Nazzio John joined Brann and recorded a time of 38.64, which earned them a spot in Friday night's final. The previous program-best mark had been in place since 2018.

- Men's 110m Hurdles: Brann qualified for the final by breaking the school record with a time of 13.17.
- Men's 200m: John recorded a 20.40 in the first heat of the semifinal.
- Men's 4x100m Relay: John, Calhoun, Brown and Brann turned in a school record 38.64 and earned an automatic qualification into Friday's final.
- Men's 4x400m Relay: Noah Carmichael, Mason Louis, Edidiong Udo and Damon Frabotta were disqualified after the conclusion of the race.
