Ohio State Picks Up 11 Wins on Final Day of Jesse Owens Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team hosted the Jesse Owens Classic at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium this weekend.
Ohio State earned wins from athletes in 11 different events on Saturday. Among the Buckeye victories was a personal best 46.89 from Damon Frabotta in the men's 400m. Morgan Hallett also picked up her second win in as many weeks, recording a mark of 50.74m/166'5" in the women's discus competition. Ohio State also swept the relay events at this years Jesse Owens Classic, taking home first place finishes in the men's 4x100m and 4x400m, as well as the women's 4x100m and 4x400m.

- Women's 100m: Bobbi Olive had the second-best time in the event semifinal with a 11.86. Olive won the final with an 11.61.
- Men's 100m: Dominic Calhoun won the final with a 10.22.
- Women's 100m Hurdles: Olivia Powell recorded the best time in the semifinals after crossing the line in 13.45. Powell also claimed the best time in the event finals with a 13.57.
- Men's 110m Hurdles: Malik Mixon (14.10), Sopuluchi Anosike (14.87) and Victor Tornstrom (15.54) all qualified for the event final. Mixon took first place in the final with a 14.17 and Anosike placed second with a time of 14.65.
- Women's 400: Kiara Webb led the way, finishing in 54.41 and placing first. Michaela McCall placed second with a time of 54.21.
- Men's 400m: Frabotta won the event with a PB time of 46.89, while Noah Carmichael finished second with a 47.07.
- Women's 800m: Naomi Clarke took fourth place with a time of 2:07.56.
- Men's 800m: Jaxson Eckert registered a PB 1:50.07 and earned a fourth-place finish.
- Men's 3000m Steeplechase: Connor Long earned a PB time of 9:02.46 and placed third.
- Women's 4x100m: Ohio State's relay squad finished first, crossing the line in 45.37.
- Men's 4x100m: Nazzio John, Kyler Brown, Nick Biega and Braxton Brann took the win in 39.50.
- Women's 4x400m: The Buckeyes secured a first-place finish after crossing the line 3:42.20.
- Men's 4x400m: Ohio State crossed the line in 3:12.34 and placed first.
Friday, May 1
- Women's 200m: Laila Campbell earned a win with a 23.60, while Sydney Bryant finished second with a 23.78. Olive's time of 24.52 gives her a ninth-place finish.
- Men's 200m: Brown (20.64), Calhoun (20.76), and John (20.86) filled out the top three, finishing first, second and third respectively.
- Men's 400m Hurdles: Charmar Smith recorded a time of 52.96 and finished fourth, while Lucas Tornstrom crossed the line in 53.28 and placed fifth.
- Men's 1500m: Cooper Citro picked up a win with a PB 3:44.67, while Colin Cernansky (3:47.14) earned a third-place finish and a PB of his own. Will McGraw (3:48.42) placed seventh.
- Women's 5000m: Audrey DeSantis claimed a third-place finish with a PB 16:22.62. Teodora Iovi placed sixth after finishing in 16:37.89.
- Men's 5000m: Colby Adams crossed the line in 14:30.31, earning a PB and an 11th place finish.

- Women's Shot Put: Hallett registered a mark of 14.68m/48'2.00" and finished fifth, while Kamille Smith placed seventh with a distance of 14.38m/47'2.25". Ohio State alumna Adelaide Aquilla competed unattached in the event and established a facility record mark of 19.01m/62'4.50", surpassing her previous record set in 2022.
- Men's Triple Jump: Brian Kellon placed fourth after jumping 14.09m/46'2.75".
- Men's Discus: Jack Knapke earned an eighth-place finish with a mark of 49.77m/163'3.00" on his final attempt of the day.
- Women's High Jump: Callia Harris cleared 1.65m/5'5.00" and finished in eighth place.
- Men's Pole Vault: Daniel Edwards placed fifth with a height of 5.06m/16'7.35".
- Women's Discus: Hallett earned a first-place finish with an attempt that measured 50.74m/166'5". Sophie Bidwell (45.65m/149'9") placed fifth and Smith (43.16m/141'7") finished sixth.
- Men's High Jump: Sean Kaminski cleared a season-best 2.07m/6'9.50" and finished third, while Devin Jordan placed fifth with a height of 2.01m/6'7.50".
Friday, May 1
- Men's Javelin Throw: Tornstrom placed ninth with a distance of 47.16m/154'8.00".
- Women's Hammer Throw: Bidwell earned a second-place finish with a mark of 58.85m/193'1.00". Hallett placed eighth with a distance of 54.27m/178'00".
- Men's long Jump: Cheikh M'Baye finished sixth after registering a mark of 6.73m/22'1" on his first attempt of the day.
- Women's Pole Vault: Sophie Fong cleared a program record height of 4.21m/13'7.75" and finished second, while Nicole Grimes cleared 3.91m/12'10" and placed sixth.
