Ohio State Dominates on Senior Night in a Clean Sweep vs NKU

Buckeyes Will Finish Out Regular Season on the Road at McKendree and Lindenwood
COLUMBUS, Ohio—The No. 16 Buckeyes (13-10, 8-6) took down the Norse (5-16, 2-12) on Saturday afternoon on senior night in three sets.
Senior Day Recognition
The first set was taken by Ohio State in extra points with a score of 27-25. The Buckeyes won the second set with score of 25-19. After possessing the lead for the entire third set, Ohio State took set three, 25-17.
Stanislaw Chacinski led the Buckeyes in kills with 13. Senior Shane Wetzel followed with nine to add to his career total of 1,261 kills.
Daniel Hurley led with four service aces in the match. Wetzel added two.
Eliel Salva-Torres put up seven blocks and seven kills for Ohio State. Daniel Henwood Rodriguez added four blocks and led with eight digs.
Both Drew Hudson and Wetzel had seven digs in the match.
Set 1 (27-25, OSU)
The Buckeyes started the match strong with a service ace by Shane Wetzel for the 3-1 lead. A kill by Stanislaw Chacinski continued Ohio State's lead, 5-4. Wetzel, Chacinski and Brady Jones put up a massive triple block that extended the scoring advantage to 7-5. Eliel Salva-Torres added a kill that kept the lead, 10-9. A kill by Chacinski preserved the Buckeyes' lead, 11-10. The Norse tied it at 12-all. Daniel Henwood Rodriguez added a service ace, 14-13. Jones put down a kill that preserved the scoring advantage for Ohio State going into the media timeout, 15-14. A huge block by Salva-Torres and Henwood Rodriguez forced an NKU timeout, 19-17. Another triple block by Salva-Torres, Daniel Hurley and Henwood Rodriguez gave the Buckeyes a four-point advantage, 21-17. The Norse went on a small run that tied the set at 22-all. Chacinski added another kill for the one-point advantage, 23-22. Another kill by Wetzel gave Ohio State its first setpoint, 24-23. Wetzel put down a kill in extra points for the 25-24 lead. Another kill by Wetzel won the set in extra points, 27-25.

Set 2 (25-19, OSU)
Salva-Torres started the second set with a huge kill out of the middle, 2-1. Henwood Rodriguez and Salva-Torres put up another block for the 6-3 lead. Hurley followed that up with a service ace to extend to a four-point advantage, 7-3. A kill by Chacinski continued the Buckeyes' lead, 11-5. Another kill by Jones extended the lead to five-points, 12-7. Wetzel put down a kill to preserve the scoring advantage, 13-11. A short run by the Norse tied the set at 13-all. Another massive kill by Salva-Torres gave Ohio State back the lead, 14-13. Hurley added another service ace for the two-point advantage, 16-14. Salva-Torres had another kill from the middle for the 18-15 lead. A kill by Chacinski extended the lead, 20-17. Wetzel put down another kill from the right-side for the 22-19 advantage. A solo block by Salva-Torres gave the Buckeyes their first set point, 24-19. Chacinski won the second set for Ohio State with a kill from the outside, 25-19.

Set 3 (25-17, OSU)
A service ace by Jones started the third set with a three-point advantage, 3-0. Consecutive kills by Salva-Torres and Hurley extended the lead, 5-1. An 8-1 run for the Buckeyes gave them a nine-point advantage, 10-1. A kill by Henwood Rodriguez kept the lead, 12-5. Jones put down another kill from the middle for the 16-11 lead. Another kill by Henwood Rodriguez continued the lead, 18-13. Consecutive service aces by Hurley gave Ohio State a seven-point advantage, 20-13. A successful challenge by the Buckeyes gave them the 21-14 advantage. Another kill from the outside by Chacinski extended the lead, 22-15. Jones added another kill out of the middle, 23-15. Tyler Tharpe tooled off the block for Ohio State's first set point, 24-17. A massive block by Tharpe and Salva-Torres won the set for the Buckeyes, 25-17.
