Buckeyes Earn Six First-Place Finishes Friday

Ohio State competed at three different meets on Friday.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team competed at the Cherry Blossom Invitational, Texas Relays and VertKlasse Meeting today.
Ohio State picked up six first place finishes on a day where they competed at meets in North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. At the Texas Relays Nazzio John recorded a wind-aided 10.03 in the men's 100m prelims and earned a spot in Saturday's final. Victor Tornstrom competed in the B section of the men's long jump at the Texas Relays, where he placed first after jumping 7.72m/25'4". At the Ohio Cherry Blossom Invitational freshman Allie Kopser earned a first-place finish with a time of 4:32.73 in the women's 1500m. Cooper Citro picked up a win for the Buckeyes in the men's 1500m in Athens, crossing the line in 3:50.50. Jaxson Eckert recorded a personal best time of 1:51.14 on his way to first place in the men's 800m and Mia Robillard claimed first in the women's 3000m with a time of 10:24.74.
The Buckeyes will wrap up the final day of the Texas Relays Saturday, with the men's invitational 4x200m relay set to begin at 1 p.m. ET.

- Women's 100m Hurdles: Janela Spencer qualified for Saturday's final after finishing in 13.11 (sixth). Noah Smith recorded a PB 13.75 and placed second in the timed final.
- Men's 110m Hurdles: Braxton Brann recorded a 13.44 (second) and will race in Saturday's final.
- Women's 4x100m Relay (Carlette Guidry): Bryant, Laila Campbell, Hackett and Bobbi Olive recorded a 44.35 in the prelims and earned a spot in Saturday's final.
- Men's 4x100m Relay (Clyde Littlefield): Ohio State's relay squad registered a 39.48 and will compete in the final Saturday.
- Men's 4x400m Relay: The Buckeyes qualified for Saturday's finals after recording the best time in their heat (3:10.31).
- Women's 800m: Teodora Iovi secured a fifth-place finish after crossing the line in 2:13.46.
- Men's 800m: Eckert recorded a PB and finished first with a time of 1:51.14. Citro placed fifth with a 1:57.02.
- Women's 1500m: Kopser earned first place with a time of 4:32.73, while Iovi (4:33.06) and Audrey DeSantis (4:35.52) finished second and third respectively.
- Men's 1500m: Citro picked up another first place finish for the Buckeyes, crossing the line in 3:50.50. Colin Cernansky placed second, finishing right behind Citro with a time of 3:50.85.
- Women's 3000m: Robillard finished the race in 10:24.74 and placed first.

- Men's Long Jump (B): Tornstrom won the B section of the men's long jump competition, jumping 7.72m/25'4" on his sixth and final attempt of the day.
- Women's Shot Put: Morgan Hallett recorded a PB 15.45m/50'8.25" and earned second place. Kamille Smith placed fifth with an attempt of 14.43m/47'4.25".
- Men's Discus Throw: Competing in the open section of the event, Jack Knapke recorded a 49.37m/161'11" throw and placed sixth, while Lawson Maag registered an attempt that measured 48.50m/159'1" and finished seventh.
- Men's Long Jump (A): DJ Fillmore placed second after recording a jump that measured 7.86m/25'9.50".
- Men's High Jump: Sean Kaminski and Devin Jordan both cleared 2.04m/6'8.25" in the B section of the competition, finishing fifth and sixth respectively.
- Women's Pole Vault: Sophie Fong cleared a season-best 4.11m/13'5.75" and earned a second-place finish in the A section of the competition, while Nicole Grimes recorded a PB 3.96m/12'11".75 and placed third.
- Women's Discus Throw: Hallett recorded a PB 52.30m/171'7" attempt, placing third in the elite section of the competition. Sophie Bidwell registered a PB of her own, recording a 49.18m/161'4" throw and finishing sixth.
Thursday, April 2
- Men's Elite Hammer Throw: Knapke won the competition with a PB 51.04m/200'3", while Brandt Morlock finished in second with an attempt that measured 58.12m/190'8".
- Women's Elite Hammer Throw: Bidwell placed fourth with a mark of 57.16m/187'6" and Morgan Hallet finished sixth after registering a PB 54.32m/ 178'2".
- Men's Open Hammer Throw: Maag recorded a PB (52.40m/171'11") and placed third.
- Women's Pole Vault: Veronica Waugaman competed in the B section of the pole vault competition, placing fifth and clearing 3.51m/11'6.24".
