Buckeyes Qualify for Eight Event Finals at Day Two of Penn Relays

Ohio State earned nine entries into eight different event finals on day two of competition.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team competed at the Penn Relays and Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational today.
The Buckeyes earned qualification into eight different event finals Friday in Philadelphia, spanning the men's and women's 100m, women's 100m hurdles, men's 110m hurdles, men's and women's 4x100m relays and men's and women's 4x400m relays. Kyler Brown and Nazzio John were the only pair of Buckeyes to qualify in the same event for any of Saturday's finals. Brown recorded a 10.27 in the men's 100m preliminary round while John crossed the line in 10.30.

Friday, April 24
- Women's 100m: Laila Campbell earned a spot in Saturday's final with a time of 11.59.
- Men's 100m: Brown (10.27) and John (10.30) will both race in the event final.
- Women's 100m Hurdles: Olivia Powell's time of 13.46 earned her a spot in Saturday's final.
- Men's 110m Hurdles Heats: Braxton Brann won his heat and qualified for the event final with a time of 13.76.
- Women's 4x100m Heats: Sydney Bryant, Campbell, Laila Hackett and Michaela McCall qualified for Saturday's final with a time of 44.23.
- Men's 4x100m Heats: John, Brown, Nick Biega and Marcus Brown Jr. claimed their spot in Saturday's final with a 39.59.
- Women's 4x400m Heats: Kiara Webb, Tianna Spinks, Campbell and Avery Clark recorded a time of 3:35.82 to qualify for the final.
- Men's 4x400m Heats: Noah Carmichael, Mason Louis, Michael Middleton and Damon Frabotta qualified for Saturday's final after crossing the line in 3:07.00.
- Women's Sprint Medley Relay: Powell, Bryant, Tatum Lynn and Naomi Clarke placed sixth after finishing in 3:51.99.
- Men's Sprint Medley Relay: Biega, Dominic Calhoun, Edidiong Udo and Jaxson Eckert finished third with a time of 3:21.12.
Thursday, April 23
- Women's 400m Hurdles: Clark finished third with a PB time of 57.71.
- Men's 400m Hurdles: Frabotta won his heat with a time of 51.46, placing eighth overall.
- Women's 1500m: Aniya Mosley took second place with a time of 4:12.14.
- Men's 5000m: Kevin Agnew earned a PB after crossing the line in 14:12.96.

Friday, April 24
- Women's Shot Put (Div. A): Morgan Hallett tied her PB with a mark of 15.45m/50'8.25 and placed third, while Kamille Smith recorded a distance of 14.65m/48'0.75 and finished eighth.
- Men's Long Jump: Brian Kellon placed sixth with a jump that measured 7.04m/23'1.25.
- Women's Pole Vault: Nicole Grimes earned a third-place finish after clearing 3.90m/12'9.50.
Thursday, April 23
- Women's Hammer Throw (Div. A): Sophie Bidwell recorded a PB mark of 58.94m/193'04, earning a first-place finish. Hallett placed third with a distance of 54.47m/178'08, recorded on her first attempt of the day.
- Men's Hammer Throw (Div. A): Jack Knapke placed fifth with a distance of 58.09m/190'7.
