COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team (5-9) closes out a five-game homestand on Tuesday, March 10 when the Buckeyes welcome Kent State (11-4) to Bill Davis Stadium at 3 p.m.

- The Buckeyes dropped a three-game series to No. 1 UCLA to open Big Ten play over the weekend.
- In game one, the Buckeyes fell to the Bruins, 11-1. Dane Harvey hit his first home run as a Buckeye during the game. Gavin Kuzniewski (0-1) took the loss. He struck out four and gave up five earned runs on six hits in 4.0 innings pitched.
- On Saturday, Ohio State was defeated by the Bruins, 19-6, in eight innings. Mason Eckelman, Alex Bemis and Harvey led the team in hits with two each and Eckelman had a team-high four RBIs. Eckelman and Harvey each hit a home run. On the mound, Chris Domke (1-3) took the loss. He struck out three and allowed nine runs on eight hits in 2.1 innings pitched.
- The Buckeyes had an early 5-0 lead on the Bruins, but ultimately were defeated, 10-7, in the series finale on Sunday. Harvey led the Buckeyes with a career-high three hits and two RBIs. Starter Pierce Herrenbruck fanned a career-high five and gave up two runs on six hits in a 4.1-inning no-decision. Owen Graf (0-1) took the loss. He allowed three runs on one hit in less than one inning pitched.
- Noah Furcht leads the Buckeyes at the plate, batting .314.. He has a team-high 16 hits.
- Furcht and Eckelman are tied for the team lead in home runs with three each. Eckelman leads the team in RBIs with 15.
- Lee Ellis has scored a team-high 12 runs. He also leads the Buckeyes in stolen bases; he is a perfect 7-for-7.
- On the mound, Kuzniewski (0-1) leads the pitching staff in strikeouts with 22 in 18.0 innings pitched.
- Domke (1-3) has fanned 21 in 14.2 innings tossed.
- Jude Fisher (13), Herrenbruck (12), Zak Sigman (11) and Graf (10) also have double-digit strikeouts.
- The Golden Flashes are 11-4 coming into Tuesday's matchup, most notably winning a series against then-No. 13 Tennessee earlier in the season.
- Utility player Sawyer Solitaria leads Kent State at the plate, batting .383. He has a team-high 19 runs, 23 hits and seven home runs.
- Outfielder Micah Rienstra-Kiracofe leads the Golden Flashes in RBIs with 17. He is batting .302 with 16 hits.
- Ciaran Caughey (2-0) leads the Kent State pitching staff in strikeouts with 26 and he has a 0.92 ERA.
- The Buckeyes head to Seattle, Wash. for a three-game series against Washington. It will be Ohio State's first games against the Huskies since they joined the Big Ten and will be the teams' first meeting since 1990.
