The Buckeyes opened their outdoor season at USF.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team competed at the USF Alumni Invitational in Tampa, Fla. today.

The Buckeyes began their outdoor season today at the USF Track & Field Stadium. Nicole Grimes had the best finish of the day for Ohio State, placing first in the open section of the women's pole vault competition, clearing 3.85m/12'7.5". Morgan Hallett also impressed for the Buckeyes, establishing personal bests in two events. She placed seventh in the shot put with a mark of 15.03m/49'3.75" and 11^th in the hammer throw (52.53m/172'4").

Saturday's action at the USF Alumni Invitational will begin at 10 a.m. with the women's portion of the Don Marsh Pole Vault Invite.

Women's 200m: Sydney Bryant recorded a PR and placed ninth with a time of 23.82.
Men's 200m: Braxton Brann registered a personal best 20.86 and took home sixth place. Nazzio John placed ninth with a 20.95.
Women's 400m Hurdles: Avery Clark set a PR and finished third with a time of 58.93, while Tatum Lynn placed seventh with a 59.17.
Men's 400m hurdles: Charmar Smith (51.70) placed third and Damon Frabotta (51.98) finished fourth.
Men's 800m: Jaxson Eckert established a PR with a time of 1:51.39, taking home seventh place.

Women's Pole Vault: Grimes placed first in the open competition after clearing 3.85m/12'7.50".
Men's Pole Vault: Bailey Fletcher placed third with a height of 4.85m/15'1".
Women's Hammer Throw: Hallett (52.53m/172'4") and Sophie Bidwell (52.09m/170'10") both established personal bests, placing 11^th and 13^th respectively.
Men's Hammer Throw: Brandt Morlock recorded an attempt of 55.45m/181'11", finishing 12^th.
Women's Shot Put: Hallett placed seventh with a personal best 15.03m/48'8.25", while freshman Kamille Smith finished ninth with a mark of 14.84m/48'8.25".
