Buckeyes Close Out USF Alumni Invitational

Ohio State earned 18 top 10 finishes on day two.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team competed at the USF Alumni Invitational in Tampa, Fla. this weekend.
The Buckeyes completed their first outdoor meet of the season with a busy day at the USF Alumni Invitational. Freshman Kiara Webb earned a win in the women's 400m dash with a time of 52.65, the best finish of any Buckeye on day two of the meet. Ohio State earned a total of nine top five finishes on the day.
Ohio State will return to action Thursday when they begin competing at the Raleigh Relays.

- Women's 100m: Laila Campbell took home sixth place with a time of 11.62.
- Women's 100m Hurdles: Janela Spencer advanced to the event finals with a time of 13.31, where she placed third and recorded a 13.35.
- Men's 110m Hurdles: Malik Mixon equaled a career-best time of 14.35 to qualify for the event finals. He finished fifth in the finals with a 14.40.
- Women's 400m: Kiara Webb placed first with a time of 52.65 in her first outdoor collegiate 400m attempt. Michaela McCall finished ninth and recorded a 54.69.
- Men's 400m: Michael Middleton established a personal best (46.93) and placed seventh.
- Women's 4x100m Relay: Spencer, Katie Ruffener, Noa Smith and Bobbi Olive placed fourth with a time of 44.58
- Men's 4x100m Relay: Braxton Brann, Mixon, Nazzio John and Marcus Brown earned a second-place finish (39.35).
- Women's 4x400m Relay: Smith, Olive, Campbell and Sydney Bryant recorded a 3:35.56, finishing second.
- Men's 4x400m: Domonic Calhoun, Mason Louis, Damon Frabotta and Middleton registered a 3:09.31 and placed third.
Friday, March 20
- Women's 200m: Bryant recorded a PR and placed ninth with a time of 23.82.
- Men's 200m: Brann registered a personal best 20.86 and took home sixth place. John placed ninth with a 20.95.
- Women's 400m Hurdles: Avery Clark set a PR and finished third with a time of 58.93, while Tatum Lynn placed seventh with a 59.17.
- Men's 400m hurdles: Charmar Smith (51.70) placed third and Frabotta (51.98) finished fourth.
- Men's 800m: Jaxson Eckert established a PR with a time of 1:51.39, taking home seventh place.

- Women's Don Marsh Pole Vault Invite: Sophie Fong placed second, clearing 4.00m/13'1.5".
- Men's High Jump: Sopuluchi Anosike and Devin Jordan both jumped a height of 2.00m/6'6.75", placing sixth and seventh respectively.
- Women's Triple Jump: Morgan Bridges established a PR with a mark of 12.58m/41'3.25" on her fourth attempt.
- Men's Discus Throw: Jack Knapke recorded a personal best 52.71m/172'11" throw, finishing fifth.
- Women's Discus Throw: Morgan Hallett placed 10th with a throw that measured 49.76m/163'3".
Friday, March 20
- Women's Pole Vault: Nicole Grimes placed first in the open competition after clearing 3.85m/12'7.50".
- Men's Pole Vault: Bailey Fletcher placed third with a height of 4.85m/15'1".
- Women's Hammer Throw: Hallett (52.53m/172'4") and Sophie Bidwell (52.09m/170'10") both established personal bests, placing 11th and 13th respectively.
- Men's Hammer Throw: Brandt Morlock recorded an attempt of 55.45m/181'11", finishing 12th.
- Women's Shot Put: Hallett placed seventh with a personal best 15.03m/48'8.25", while freshman Kamille Smith finished ninth with a mark of 14.84m/48'8.25".
