COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State wrapped up day two of competition at the Tom Jones Memorial Invite, hosted by the University of Florida, on Saturday. A select group of male long-distance runners went to the Virginia Challenge on Friday as well. The Buckeyes had four athletes earn event titles and 11 set new personal bests.

CHAMPIONS
Amelia Figler claimed champion in the women's 800m with a new PR of 2:07.86, beating out her previous PR of 2:08.73. Tanner Watson won the men's discus throw with his best distance of 57.31m/188'0" taking place on his fourth attempt. DJ Fillmore won the men's long jump, having his best distance of 7.64m/25'0.75" occur on his first attempt. Katie Castelli won the women's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:32.50.

NEW PR's
Edidiong Udo set a new men's 400m personal record of 45.19 seconds and is the fourth-fastest individual in the outdoor event in Buckeye history. Zamesha Myle's women's triple jump distance of 12.75m/41'10" is a new PR, improving from 12.35m/40'6.25". Morgan Hallett's women's discus throw of 50.33m/165'1" beat out her old PR by more than five meters. Braxton Brann set a new men's 110m hurdles PR of 13.91 seconds. In the women's 400m invite, Michaela McCall finished with a time of 52.70 seconds, good for a new PR. Mason Louis (47.12) also competed men's 400m, earning a new PR. Sophie Bidwell's best mark in the hammer throw was good for 54.60m/179'1", besting her previous PR of 53.95m/177'0". In the men's javelin, Braden Wakey threw for a PR of 53.15m/174'4". Nick Biega led the Buckeye men in the 200m invite with a new PR (20.77) for the second weekend in a row after finishing in 20.82 seconds last weekend at South Florida. Keegan Freyhof (Va.) set a new outdoor PR in the men's 5000m of 14:41.36, beating out his previous one of 15:13.51 (2023 Jesse Owens Classic).

Saturday, April 19
- Women's 100m: Bobbi Olive placed 14th out of 40 in the women's 100m with a time of 11.46 seconds.
- Women's 800m: Figler claimed champion with a new PR of 2:07.86, beating out her previous best of 2:08.73. Carina Napoleon was the runner-up with a time of 2:09.74.
- Men's 800m: Jaxson Eckert finished with the ninth-best time of 1:53.26.
- Women's 100m hurdles invite: Janela Spencer had the 10th best time of 13.37 seconds. Olivia Powell also competed, registering a time of 13.62 seconds.
- Men's 110m hurdles invite: Brann placed ninth with a time of 13.91 seconds to qualify for the next round.
- Women's 4x100m relay: A team consisting of Leah Bertrand, Fatouma Conde, Olive and McCall placed 10th with a time of 44.10 seconds.
- Men's 4x100m relay: Biega, Nazzio John, Noah Brown and Denzell Feagin also landed in 10th after recording a time of 39.20.
- Women's 800m invite: Aniya Mosley completed the event in 2:06.64.
- Men's 800m invite: Alex Kenish finished with a time of 1:52.63.
- Men's 110m hurdles invite: Brann had the sixth-best time of 13.64 seconds, setting a new PR after edging out his previous one of 13.65 seconds from the USF invite last weekend.
- Women's 400m invite: McCall finished 19th with a time of 52.70 seconds, good for a new PR. She beat out her personal best of 53.19 seconds, which similar to Brann, also came last weekend at the USF Invite.
- Men's 400m invite: Udo set a new men's 400m personal record, having the second-best time of 45.19 seconds. Udo's now sits as the fourth-fastest individual in the outdoor event in Buckeye history. Noah Carmichael (46.54) and Louis (47.12) also competed with Louis also earning a new PR (previously 48.02).
- Women's 100m invite: Bertrand placed fourth with a time of 11.22 seconds.
- Men's 100m invite: In the men's 100m invite, John placed 14th (10.30). Feagin (10.40), Biega (10.43) and Marcus Brown (10.53) competed as well.
- Men's 4x400m relay: A team consisting of Carmichael, John, Udo and Louis placed 10th with a time of 3:07.06.
Friday, April 18
- Women's 200m: Olive opened the Buckeyes' entries for the day with a time of 24.61 seconds.
- Women's 200m invite: Bertrand finished third in her heat with a time of 23.64 seconds.
- Men's 200m invite: Biega won his heat with a PR of 20.77 seconds. Feagin (21.12) and Brann (21.33) also competed.
- Women's 3000m steeplechase: The Buckeyes claimed the top three spots as Castelli won (10:32.50), Akemi Von Scherr was the runner-up (10:43.39) and Zoee Lehman finished third (10:44.41).
- Women's 1500m: Teodora Iovi finished with the seventh-best women's 1500m time of 4:30.06.
- Men's 1500m: Will McGraw completed the event in 4:00.34 with Cooper Citro finishing shortly after with a time of 4:00.68.

Saturday, April 19
- Women's discus throw: Hallett placed sixth, launching her best throw for 50.33m/165'1". Bidwell also competed, throwing for 40.49m/132'10". Hallet's toss set a new personal record, beating her old PR by more than five meters.
- Men's discus throw: Watson won the event with his best distance of 57.31m/188'0" taking place on his fourth attempt. Jack Knapke placed 10th with a toss of 50.66m/166'2". Lawson Maag rounded out the Buckeyes with a distance of 45.78m/150'2".
- Women's pole vault: Nicole Grimes placed fourth, matching her PR of 3.90m/12'9.5".
- Women's triple jump: Myle had the second-best distance of 12.75m/41'10". Her distance is also a PR, improving from 12.35m/40'6.25". Syndey Burr finished in fifth with 12.59m/41'3.75".
- Women's pole vault invite: Sophie Fong (ninth) and Morgan Fijalkowski (11th) each cleared 4.10m/13'5.25". Fong tied her PR, which occurred at last week's USF Invite.
- Men's shot put: Michael Lunsford had the 12th best throw of 16.38m/53'9".
- Women's high jump invite: Amaya Ugarte placed fifth overall, tying for the second-best clearance of 1.78m/5'10".
- Women's shot put: Lacey Stringer had the fifth-best women's shot put throw of 15.92m/52'2.75", which came on her third attempt.
Friday, April 18
- Men's hammer throw: Maag led the Buckeye men with his best throw of 46.36m/152'1".
- Men's pole vault: Daniel Edwards finished fifth by clearing 5.15m/16'10.75" on his third attempt – a height just a quarter of an inch shy of his personal best.
- Women's hammer throw: The Buckeyes had two in the finals as Stringer finished fifth (56.02m/183'9") and Bidwell finished seventh with a personal best throw (54.60m/179'1"). Hallett also competed with her best throw going for 48.66m/159'8".
- Men's javelin: Wakey recorded a personal best of 53.15m/174'4".
- Men's high jump: Devin Jordan recorded the best clearance (2.06m/6'9") by the Buckeye men this season, finishing fourth. Sean Kaminski cleared 1.96m/6'5" on his first attempt.
- Women's long jump: Sydney Burr leaped 5.84m/19'2" on her second attempt.
- Men's long jump: Fillmore won the men's long jump, having his best distance of 7.64m/25'0.75" occur on his first attempt.
VIRGINIA CHALLENGE TRACK RESULTS
Friday, April 18
- Men's 5000m invite: Weston Day finished the men's 5000m invitational with a time of 14:14.31.
- Men's 5000m sections: Liam Shaughnessy had a top 10 finish, placing ninth with a time of 14:28.90. Kevin Agnew (14:35.17) and Freyhof (14:41.36) each finished in the top half of the competition. Freyhof set a new outdoor PR, beating out his previous one of 15:13.51 (2023 Jesse Owens Classic). Colby Adams recorded a time of 14:54.50 and Zubin Jha finished in 15:03.22. Kaleb Martin finished in 14:46.82 in the second section.
