- Competed in the discus (38.32m) and hammer throw (49.00m) at the Big Ten Championships
- Finished sixth in the hammer throw (53.95m) at the Jesse Owens Classic
- Finished seventh in the hammer throw (50.94m) at Louisville
- Threw discus at USF (44.07m), Raleigh Relays (39.10m) and Jesse Owens Classic (36.95m)
- Lettered for three years at Newark High School in the throws group
- Also lettered for three years as a power forward on the basketball team and played volleyball
- Participated in the Big Brothers, Big Sisters lunch buddies program, visiting local elementary schools to each lunch with younger students
