Buckeyes Set to Host Indiana This Weekend

Series will start with a doubleheader tomorrow at noon
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State softball team will wrap up the month of March this weekend when it hosts Indiana for a three-game series at Buckeye Field. Due to the weather, the schedule has been altered and will now include a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon and a single game on Monday that's slated for a 7 p.m. start.
Talkin' Tickets
Those interested in purchasing single-game tickets can do so here: CLICK HERE. Prices for non-premier games range from $5-$9 before fees. Premier pricing will be in place for a select number of home games this season. Seating at Buckeye Field is general admission. A limited number of student tickets will be available for free at each game with a BuckID on a first come, first serve basis. Children under two years old and younger will be admitted free but must sit on an adult's lap.

Basics on the Buckeyes
- Ohio State enters this weekend's series with a nine-game winning streak, which is the fourth-longest active streak in the country and the longest in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes are 27-6-1 and are ranked anywhere between No. 18 and No. 23 in every major poll.
- The Buckeyes have been powered for their offense, which is currently first nationally in scoring (8.88 runs/game), home runs (80), doubles (72) and slugging percentage (.728).
- The offense is balanced, with every starter batting .320 or better. Seven players have seven or more home wins. Jasmyn Burns leads the way with 14.
- Burns (.474, 14 home runs, 45 RBI) and Reagan Milliken (.352, 11 home runs, 49 RBI) are among the nation's top RBI producers: Milliken ranked fifth in the country and Burns is ninth.
- During its current nine-game winning streak, Ohio State is averaging 13.2 runs per game and has 56 extra base hits (6.2 per game).
- Ohio State's pitching staff is made up of three freshmen and a fourth-year junior. Lorin Boutte, a freshman, is 12-4 and leads the team in innings pitched (77.1), strikeouts (80) and opponent batting average against (.228).
- The other two freshmen – Layna Gerhard and Kassandra Gewecke – are a combined 8-0 on the season.
- Kennedy Kay is second on the team with 57.0 innings pitched and on Tuesday struck out a season-high seven batters in an 11-6 win over Purdue Fort Wayne.
Scouting Indiana
- The Hoosiers enter this weekend's series with a 22-8 record and 2-3 mark in Big Ten play following last weekend's series win over Penn State.
- Like Ohio State, Indiana is powered by its offense. The Hoosiers lead the Big Ten in batting average (.390) and are second to the Buckeyes in doubles (68). They've also stolen a league-high 63 bases.
- Ohio State and Indiana have played eight times over the last 10 seasons (2020 and 2024 excluded) and the home team have won each of the series. The two teams have split the 26 games played in the span.
