
Ohio State Drops to Michigan in Big Ten Tournament, Ending 2026 Campaign

Abbie Wilhelm, Reese Cullen, Hailey Lang and Izzy Neal notched Ohio State's five hits of the day. Lorin Boutte (7-7) got the start and the loss, tossing 2.2 innings and allowing two earned runs. Jenna Molk pitched 2.1 in relief, allowing one earned run.
How it Happened
- Michigan took a 1-0 lead to open the game on an Ella Stephenson RBI single.
- Lilly Vallimont extended the lead to two runs with a solo home run in the top of the third. Michigan added two more runs on a passed ball and a Janelle Ilacqua RBI single to lead 4-0 at the inning's end.
- Two errors, an Ilacqua infield single and an Erin Hoehn RBI single in the top of the fourth gave the Wolverines a 9-0 lead.
- Lorin Boutte got the start and the loss for Ohio State. Gabby Ellis went the distance in the win for the Wolverines.

Ohio State's tournament berth was its 14th in program history. The Buckeyes finished the year 13-12 in conference play, with 116 home runs, good for third best in the nation. Seven Buckeyes finished their season at .300 or higher at the plate, with four individual home run totals in double digits. Ohio State will graduate three tenured seniors with the conclusion of the season, including Skylar Limon, Kennedy Kay and Lexi Paulsen.
