Ohio State plays two Big Ten road matches this weekend
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team continues its stretch of Big Ten road matches this weekend. The team plays Maryland at 3 p.m. Friday in College Park, Md., and takes on Rutgers at noon Sunday in Piscataway, N.J.

Ohio State currently holds a 9-2 record (3-1 B1G) after a 1-1 weekend shutting out Michigan State but falling to No. 5 Michigan. Maryland is 9-7 overall (2-2 B1G). Rutgers is 7-5 (1-3 B1G) prior to a home match Saturday against Penn State.

- A season-high six Buckeyes are in the singles rankings: No. 8 Luciana Perry, No. 35 Teah Chavez, No. 96 Audrey Spencer, No. 98 Shelly Bereznyak, No. 111 Sydni Ratliff and No. 122 Nao Nishino.Â
- In doubles, the duo of Perry and Chavez is No. 15, its highest ranking to date.
- Ohio State is one of five Big Ten teams ranked in the Top 25, joined by No. 5 Michigan, No. 16 Southern California, No. 18 Wisconsin and No. 24 UCLAÂ
- Ohio State has a 12-1 record against Maryland and has won the last 11 matchups between the teams. The programs first met in 1984.
- Last season, the Buckeyes beat the Terrapins in a home match, 6-1. A doubles point clinch followed by five wins in singles brought the team to victory.

- The Buckeyes are currently undefeated (8-0) on courts two and five in singles through their first 11 dual matches.
- Ohio State has won the doubles point in nine of 11 matches, including the last five.
- The Buckeyes return home next weekend to face No. 24 UCLA at 6 p.m. March 28 and No. 16 Southern California at noon March 30. The match vs. the Bruins will be inside the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
- Ohio State and USC are slated to play outside at the Auer Tennis Center. In the case of inclement weather, the match will be moved inside the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
