Grimes Wins the Women’s Pole Vault Open at AU Jud Logan

All four competing athletes recorded top 10 heights in men’s and women’s events.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field program had four pole vaulters travel for the Ashland University Jud Logan meet. Bailey Fletcher (men's), Nicole Grimes and Samantha Potts (both women's) all participated in the open, while Morgan Fijalkowski competed in the elite.
All four athletes recorded top 10 height clearances with Grimes placing first, Fijalkowski, sixth, Potts, seventh and Fletcher, who tied for the 10th best height clear.

MEN'S OPEN POLE VAULT RESULTS
- Fletcher, the only male Buckeye to compete, tied for the 10th best height clearance of 4.30m/14-01.25. He elected to bypass on five different rounds of heights before attempting 4.30m, where he cleared the height on his second attempt.
WOMEN'S OPEN POLE VAULT RESULTS
- Grimes set a season best vault of 3.80m/12-05.50, placing first in the women's open competition. She bypassed the first five bar heights, succeeding in the 3.50m/11-05.75. On her second attempt, she cleared 3.65m/11-11.75. Grimes then went on to pass the height of 3.80m.
- Potts tied for seventh after clearing a bar height of 3.35m/10-11.75. Leading up to her top height, she bypassed four heights before her successful attempt at 3.35m.
WOMEN'S ELITE POLE VAULT RESULTS
- Fijalkowski landed in sixth place. After two rounds of bypassing (3.48m/11-05.00 & 3.64m/11-10.75), she cleared the 3.78m/12-04.75 bar height.
