Ohio State Sends Five Pole Vaulters to Ashland on Friday

The Buckeyes add the AU Jud Logan Light Giver Indoor open to their schedule this Friday.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field program will send five athletes to the Ashland University Jud Logan Light Giver Open to compete in the open pole vault events this Friday, Feb. 7.
Bailey Fletcher will compete in the men's open pole vault, beginning at noon. The women's pole vault will take place immediately after, featuring Morgan Fijalkowski, Nicole Grimes, Veronica Waugaman and Samantha Potts.

- Fletcher had the sixth best performance at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic, clearing 4.51m/14-03.50.
- Fijalkowski placed fourth at the Stan Scott Invitational last weekend with a clearance of 3.80m/12-05.50.
- She tied for fourth (3.69m/11-08.00) at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic.
- At the Rod McCravy Memorial, she cleared the fifth best height (4.10m/13-05.25).
- Grimes' vault of 3.64m/11-11.25 landed her eighth at the Crossroads of America Invitational.
- She cleared a height of 3.71m/12-02.00 at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic, placing eighth.
- Waugaman came right behind Grimes in ninth at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic, clearing 3.56m/11-08.00.
- Potts also debuted with Grimes, Waugaman and Fletcher at the Hoosier Horsepower Classic. She tied for 12th place in the women's pole vault (3.41m/11-02.00).
