COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State (19-8) is the No. 3 seed in the 2024 MIVA Tournament and will play host to the No. 6 seed Lewis Flyers (15-14) at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Covelli Center. The match will be streamed free by B1G+.

Tickets for the 2024 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Quarterfinals at Ohio State between the Buckeyes and Lewis University are $5 for adults and $3 for children. Students from both institutions are admitted free with ID. Parking is free.
Ohio State is the No. 3 seed in the MIVA Quarterfinals after finishing third in the regular-season league race with an 11-5 record. Lewis is the No. 6 seed with an 8-8 conference record.
This year, the Buckeyes earned 3-0 wins at Lewis Feb. 7 and then again in Columbus Feb. 29.
Jacob Pasteur and Cole Young were named 2024 First Team All-MIVA by league coaches. Shane Wetzel and Michael Wright earned second team honors. There have been 139 First Team All-MIVA selections all time.
Pasteur has been named to the league first team three times and owns a MIVA Player of the Year honor (2023). A total of 18 Buckeyes have earned first team honors three or more times. This is the second first team honor for Young. He is one of 38 Buckeyes with two or more first team honors. Wetzel has earned second team honors twice and was the league freshman of the year in 2023. Wright, the 2023 MIVA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, earns his first All-MIVA honor.
Pasteur led the Buckeyes vs. the Flyers this year with 28 kills and a hitting percentage of .571. He also had 11 aces in the six sets. Michael Wright (35) and Noah Platfoot (30) combined for 65 assists. Thomas Poole (14) and Shane Wetzel (12) led in digs. Cole Young recorded 10 blocks in the two wins.
Ohio State owns a 35-33 record over Lewis all-time. The Buckeyes are 22-16 in Columbus against the Flyers. Ohio State has won the last four matches in the series. The teams last met in the MIVA Tournament April 16, 2022 in Romeoville, Illinois. The Flyers won that meeting 3-2.
Ohio State and Lewis have met seven times previously in the MIVA Tournament with the Flyers owning the edge at 4-3. This will be the seventh match in Columbus between the schools in MIVA Tournament competition. Ohio State is 3-3 in the previous matchups.
The teams have met in the quarterfinals once (OSU rcd./0-1), the semifinals four times (2-2) and the finals twice (1-1).
Ohio State honored its seniors following its match against non-league foe Maryville April 5. Wright, Platfoot, Poole, Justin Howard, Pasteur and Nate Wilson, Ohio State's technical coordinator, were recognized.
Ohio State won its 18th MIVA Tournament title with its 3-1 win at top-seeded Ball State in Muncie April 22, 2023. Redshirt junior Michael Wright was named the tournament MVP. He joined Pasteur and Wetzel on the all-tournament team.
Ohio State has 34 seasons with 20 or more wins.
