COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tournament No. 5 seed Buckeyes (14-11, 9-7) will travel to Lebanon, Ill. to face-off against No. 4 seeded McKendree (17-10, 9-7) at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Melvin Price Convocation Center. COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tournament No. 5 seed Buckeyes (14-11, 9-7) will travel to Lebanon, Ill. to face-off against No. 4 seeded McKendree (17-10, 9-7) at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Melvin Price Convocation Center. - Ohio State won its last matchup against McKendree April 9 (3-2). The program is now 20-6 against McKendree all-time.
- Both the Buckeyes and the Bearcats posted 9-7 records in the MIVA regular season, tiebreakers placed McKendree at No. 4 and Ohio State at No. 5 in the league tournament bracket. Â
- Shane Wetzel and Eliel Salva-Torres were both named to the First Team All-MIVA. This is Wetzel's second consecutive season making First Team All-MIVA.
- Stanislaw Chacinski was named Second Team All-MIVA.
- Senior Jack O'Riordan earned the 2026 Ken Dunlap Buckeye of the Year Award for character and leadership. The award is named in honor of former head coach, Ken Dunlap, and is given to the player that best exhibits Coach Dunlap's character.
- Wetzel recorded 34 kills and 15 digs in Ohio State's past two matches, including 23 kills against McKendree April 9.
- Chacinski put up 31 kills and six blocks in the last two matchups. Adding five kills this weekend will push Chacinski to 600 career kills.
- Setter Daniel Henwood Rodriguez added six service aces and 86 assists in the two matches.
- Following a team vote, Wetzel and Drew Hudson were named captains for the 2026 season. Hudson is the first sophomore to earn captain honors in the history of the program.
- In his seventh season, Kevin Burch achieved his 100th win as Ohio State head coach (110-73) with the victory against Lincoln Memorial (3-0). Securing the win against the Railsplitters gave Burch win No. 100 to go with one regular-season MIVA title, a pair of league tournament championships and two NCAA tournament appearances.
