PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Ohio State baseball team (2-2) fell to the Grand Canyon Antelopes (4-0), 10-3, on Tuesday night in Phoenix.

- Grand Canyon took an early lead, scoring on a Buckeye error in the bottom of the first inning to get ahead, 1-0.
- . In the top of the second, Hunter Rosson singled to left field and advanced to second base on a wild pitch to get into scoring position, but he was stranded.
- With two outs in the top of the third inning, Henry Kaczmar and Matthew Graveline drew back-to-back walks and both advanced bases on a wild pitch. They were left on base, however, as the Lopes got the final out of the inning.
- In the bottom of the fifth, an RBI double and a sacrifice fly extended Grand Canyon's lead, 3-0.
- The Buckeyes answered in the top of the sixth inning. Graveline was walked to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Tyler Pettorini then drew a walk to put two runners on. Joseph Mershon was next at the plate and he singled to left field to load the bases. Mitchell Okuley stepped up to bat next, singling through the right side to send two runs home and cut the Grand Canyon lead to one, 3-2. A sacrifice fly from Rosson scored Mershon and tied things up, 3-3.
- The Antelopes, however, reclaimed the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth off an RBI double.
- Grand Canyon had a big seventh inning, scoring five runs, including a three-run homer, to take a 9-3 lead over the Buckeyes. The Lopes added one more run in the eighth to get ahead by seven, 10-3.
- Nick Giamarusti was walked to lead off the ninth inning and, with one out on the board, he stole second to get into scoring position, but the next two Buckeyes struck out and Ohio State fell to Grand Canyon, 10-3.
- Okuley, Rosson, Graveline, Kaczmar and Mershon each had one hit on the night.
- Okuley led the team in RBIs with two.
- Chase Herrell started on the mound. He tossed 3.0 innings and allowed one run on three hits.
- Gavin DeVooght (0-1) took the loss, giving up one on three hits in 1.0 inning pitched.
- Ohio State closes out its trip to the desert with a four-game series at Arizona State Thursday, Feb. 22 through Sunday, Feb. 25.
