Buckeyes This and That
- After Sunday's overtime thriller win over Louisville, the Buckeyes sit at 9-0 on the year—the program's best-ever start.
- The Buckeyes' win against Louisville was the last time Ohio State has went into overtime since November 2023, where the scarlet and gray defeated Penn State, 4-3, in the opening game of the Big Ten Tournament.
- Ohio State is one of four undefeated teams left in the nation: No. 1 North Carolina (6-0), No. 2 Northwestern (10-0) and No. 3 Virginia (9-0)
- Sunday's match marks the fifth matchup between the Buckeyes and another NFHCA top-20 team. Ohio State is 4-0 against ranked teams this season and has combined for 17 goals in those wins.
- Makenna Webster's game-winning goal on Sunday puts her at 10 for the season, enough to place her at second in the Big Ten for goals scored. Webster also leads the conference in assists with nine and is second in points (29).
- Junior back Katie Fichtner has seen goal-scoring action in three straight games.
- The Buckeyes have won six games this season by three goals or more.
- Four of eight wins this season have been shutouts. The scarlet and gray combined for 16 goals in those matches.
Scouting the Wolverines
- Sunday's match will be both teams' second Big Ten matchup of the season. The Buckeyes and Wolverines both shut out Michigan State earlier this year.
- Last year's meeting was a 5-1 Buckeye win in Columbus—the first time since 2011 that Ohio State came out on top. Sophomore Brenna Bough notched two goals while Webster recorded one in the match.
- Michigan's only loss this season was to No. 2 North Carolina in the first match of the year.
- The maize and blue lead the Big Ten in three stat categories: goals (39), assists (31) and shot percentage (.250). The Buckeyes sit in second for goals and assists (37 and 29) and third in shot percentage (.231)
- Graduate forward Kate McLaughlin has won Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week twice this season. She totals nine goals and four assists on the year.
- Graduate student Lora Clarke is the only Wolverine from Ohio on this year's roster (Shaker Heights).
