Bogle PRs in 110m Hurdles at the Drake Relays – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Demoye Bogle’s third-place and personal-best time of 13.81 seconds in the 110m hurdle finals highlighted the final day of competition at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, for the Ohio State men’s track and field team.
The sophomore’s bronze medal-winning time is the fourth fastest in Ohio State history and ranks the Huber Heights, Ohio, native among the top-25 Division I athletes in the event this season. Indiana State’s Greggmar Swift took the title in a time of 13.72, a top-15 mark nationally.
“We had several bright spots today despite very little sun at the meet,” interim head coach Ed Beathea said. “The guys were very energized and fought hard as expected. We showed or true Buckeye colors today. We are on solid footing two weeks from the Big Ten championships.”
Here’s how the rest of the meet unfolded for the Buckeyes:
400m Hurdles
Antonio Blanks turned in a PR time of 52.07 to finish ninth overall, while Marcus Brooks crossed the finish line in 52.94 seconds for 12th place. Mississippi’s Carson Blanks claimed the victory in 50.70 seconds.
1600m Sprint Medley
Marcus Brooks, Bogle, Timothy Faust, and Marvel Brooks posted a fifth-place time of 3:22.02. Georgia, with a time of 3:16.46, edged Iowa (3:17.25) to take home gold.
Discus Throw
A throw of 52.14m (171-1.00) helped Matt DeChant to an 11th-place finish. DePaul’s Tim Nedow captured first place at 58.30m (191-3.00).
4x400m Relay
In a highly competitive final featuring three of the top-7 times in the nation, Ohio State crossed the finish line in third place in a time of 3:04.01 but was disqualified following the race for a lane violation. Florida (3:02.41) edged Arkansas (3:02.47) at the finish line for the win.
Ohio State’s distance runners compete tomorrow afternoon, April 29, at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
