Brown Establishes Program Record to Wrap Up Dual Meet Weekend

The freshman set a school record in the men’s 100m.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team competed at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., and at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va., this weekend.
Competing in the men's 100m invite at the Tom Jones Memorial, freshman Kyler Brown recorded a 10.12 to establish an Ohio State program record. This is the second school record for the Tulsa, Okla., native after he ran a 6.60 in the 60m at the Rod McCravy Memorial earlier this year. The previous Ohio State 100m record was 10.15, recorded by Nick Gray at the 2019 Big Ten Championships.
Mason Louis picked up the lone win on the day for the Buckeyes. The junior crossed the line in a personal best 46.01 in the men's 400m.

- Women's 100m: Laila Campbell earned a PB and a third-place finish with a PB 11.41.
- Men's 100m Invite: Brown established a program record with a time of 10.12 and placed eighth. Nazzio John finished 10th after registering a PB 10.13.
- Women's 100m Hurdles Invite: Janela Spencer advanced to the event finals after placing first with a time of 12.82 (+3.0) in the prelims. Spencer placed fourth in the finals with a time of 12.96.
- Men's 110m Hurdles Invite: Braxton Brann advanced to the event finals with a 13.43 in the prelims. Brann recorded a 13.52 in the finals, finishing sixth.
- Men's 400m: Louis won the event with a PB time of 46.01, while Noah Carmichael placed ninth with a PB 46.45.
- Women's 800m: Naomi Clarke placed second and moved inside the programs top five performers list for the event with a PB 2:04.60.
- Men's 4x100m Relay: John, Marcus Brown, Nick Biega and Brann placed third after completing the event in 39.04.
- Women's 4x400m Relay: The Buckeyes' relay squad made up of Kiara Webb, Michaela McCall, Campbell and Clarke registered a time of 3:29.81 and finished sixth.
- Men's 4x400m Relay Invite: Carmichael, Edidiong Udo, Louis and Damon Frabotta recorded a 3:03.23, placing fourth.
Friday, April 17
- Women's 200m: Campbell recorded a PB 23.39 and finished fifth.
- Men's 200m Invite: Biega placed ninth with a wind-aided time of 20.58.
- Women's 400m Hurdles: Tatum Lynn finished first with a PB time of 57.63, while Avery Clark placed second with a PB of her own (58.13).
- Men's 400m Hurdles: Frabotta earned a PB and a second-place finish with a time of 50.91. Charmar Smith placed fourth with a PB time of 51.48.
- Women's 800m Invite: Aniya Mosley crossed the line in 2:02.99 and placed second.
- Women's 1500m Invite: Katie Castelli moved into fourth on Ohio State's top five performers list in the outdoor 1500m, recording a PB time of 4:20.67.
- Men's 1500m: Will McGraw recorded a PB 3:47.38 and placed fourth, while Colin Cernansky finished seventh with a PB 3:48.50.
- Women's 3000m Steeplechase: Allie Kopser finished in 10:35.10, placing fourth.
- Men's 5000m: Jack Agnew placed tenth with a time of 14:37.67.
- Women's 5000m Invite: Teodora Iovi earned a PB and a ninth-place finish with a 16:39.23.

- Women's Pole Vault: Sophie Fong recorded a PB height of 4.15m/13'7.25" and placed second.
- Men's Triple Jump: Ibrahim Khairat placed ninth after jumping 14.71m/48'3.25" on his third attempt of the day.
- Women's Discus: Morgan Hallett finished seventh in the competition with a mark of 49.55m/162'6", while Sophie Bidwell placed 10th (48.98m/159'4").

- Women's Hammer Throw: Hallett's distance of 55.66m/182'7" earned her a PB and a ninth-place finish.
- Men's High Jump: Devin Jordan and Sean Kaminski both cleared 2.06m/6'9", placing eighth and 10th respectively.
- Men's Pole Vault: Bailey Fletcher placed seventh after clearing 4.75m/15'7".
