Buckeyes Clinch Iowa Series With 10-2 Victory

Ohio State will host Western Michigan Tuesday and Akron Wednesday
Jenna Molk improved to 5-7 on the year. Molk has not allowed more than two earned runs in each of her wins and has tossed at least five innings in those victories. Her two strikeouts today bring her to 39 on the season, good for a team best.
How it Happened, 6 inn.
- Ohio State took a 1-0 lead in the first inning with a fielder's choice off the bat of Kiki Estrada that scored Hadley Parisien
- Iowa tied the game in the third via a Devin Sipe RBI double that scored Tory Bennett.
- The Buckeyes retook the lead 4-1 in the bottom half of the inning with an Estrada homer that scored Abbie Wilhelm and a solo shot off the bat of Hailey Lang.
- Iowa got a run back in the top of the fourth on a Leah McAnally solo home run.
- Hadley Parisien notched her third home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth, scoring Sami Bewick to put Ohio State back up four.
- The Buckeyes shut the door in the sixth with four runs scored on a Wilhelm walk that scored Bewick, a Reagan Milliken RBI double that scored Parisien and Sara Tarr, and a Taylor Cruse infield single that scored Wilhelm to seal the game 10-2.
- Jenna Molk went the distance, picking up her fifth win of the season while scattering six hits and striking out two.
- Braylen Conlon got the start and the loss for Iowa.
The Buckeyes will host two midweek games, matching up with Western Michigan (8-8) at 4 p.m. Tuesday and Akron (8-16) at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
