
Buckeyes Drop Back-and-Forth Game at Wright State

Game Recap
- The Raiders took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning after an RBI groundout, an RBI double and two RBI singles.
- Dane Harvey doubled to right field to lead off the second inning. Maddix Simpson walked and Steven Cavaco was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Miles Vandenheuvel was up next, and he singled up the middle to send in two runs and cut the Raider lead in half, 4-2. Cavaco scored on a sacrifice fly from Alex Bemis and Vandenheuvel scored on a wild pitch to even the score, 4-4.
- The Raiders reclaimed the lead, 5-4, in the bottom of the second inning after groundout.
- Noah Furcht singled through the left side to lead off the third inning. With one out, Furcht swiped second. A single to right field from Harvey sent Furcht home and tied the score once again, 5-5.
- In the bottom of the third, Wright State once again got ahead, 6-5, on an RBI single.
- With two outs in the top of the fourth, Bemis was walked. Henry Kaczmar then singled up the middle to put two runners on. A single from Furcht scored Bemis to knot the score once again, 6-6. Mason Eckelman singled up the middle, sending two runs in to give the Buckeyes their first lead of the day, 8-6.
- In the bottom of the sixth inning, a two-RBI single for the Raiders tied the score, 8-8.
- With one out in the top of the seventh, Harvey doubled to right center, followed by a walk for Simpson. With two outs, Vandenheuvel walked to load the bases, but all three runners were left stranded.
- In the bottom of the eighth, runs scored for the Raiders on a sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded walk to put them back ahead, 10-8.
- Eckelman led off with a walk in the top of the ninth inning, but there was nothing else doing for the Buckeyes as they fell to the Raiders, 10-8.
- Kaczmar and Harvey led the Buckeyes in hits with three each.
- Eckelman and Vandenheuvel shared the team lead in RBIs with two each.
- Bemis and Furchte each had one stolen base.
- Ryan Zamora struck out four in 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
- Andrew Edrington (0-2) took the loss. He struck out one and gave up two runs on one hit in 1.0 inning pitched.
- The Buckeyes play a three-game series at Minnesota Friday, March 27-Sunday, March 29.
