
Buckeyes Sweep First Day of Ohio State Tournament with Two Walk-Off Wins

The Buckeyes combined for 18 runs and seven home runs
Sami Bewick and Hadley Parisien were the heroes of the day, with Bewick's three-run home run slamming the door on a run-rule win over Indiana State, and Parisien's two-run home run securing an 8-6 victory over Campbell in the eighth inning. Bewick would go 4-8 on the day, with Parisien going 5-7.
Hailey Lang got a taste of heroics as well, tying the Campbell game in the seventh inning with a solo home run. Skylar Limon also enjoyed a productive day at the plate, going 4-6 with a home run. Kailea Ricks would go 2-5, with Taylor Cruse also adding a home run.
Jenna Molk (7-9) picked up both wins on the day, tossing a complete game shutout against Indiana State and throwing two clutch innings relief against Campbell.
How it Happened: Ohio State 10, Indiana State 0 (5 inn.)
- After three and a half innings of an offensive stalemate, the Buckeyes opened scoring in the bottom of the fourth with a Skylar Limon solo home run. Limon was followed up by run scoring hits by Sara Tarr and Hadley Parisien. Taylor Cruse then launched a three-run home run, giving the Buckeyes a six-run lead through four.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Izzy Neal scored on a passed ball to give the Buckeyes a 7-0 lead. Then with two runners on, Sami Bewick sent a bomb over the left field wall to send the Buckeyes to a walk-off, run rule victory.
- Jenna Molk went the distance in the win, allowing zero runs and striking out a season-best six batters.
- Bewick stayed hot to open the second game, hitting a two-run bomb that scored Abbie Wilhelm and gave Ohio State a 2-0 first inning lead.
- Sara Tarr laid down an RBI bunt in the bottom of the fourth that scored Skylar Limon from third and gave the Buckeyes a 3-0 lead.
- Campbell tied the game at three apiece in the top of the fifth with a Kylie Specht double that cleared loaded bases.
- Ohio State retook the lead 4-3 in the bottom half via a two-out Limon single that scored Tanaya Barrett.
- Campbell tied the game again in the top of the sixth with a Grace Kealy solo home run.
- Hadley Parisien put the Buckeyes back in front 5-4 with a solo shot of her own in the bottom of the sixth.
- Campbell plated two in the top of the seventh on a two-out error, taking a 6-5 lead.
- Hailey Lang tied the game in the bottom of the seventh on a two-strike solo shot to left center, setting up the contest for extra innings.
- Jenna Molk ended the top of the eighth with a strikeout, stranding Campbell runners on second and third.
- Parisien booked the game in the bottom of the eighth, sending the first pitch of the at-bat out of the yard to score Tarr and close the game with an 8-6 Buckeye win.
- Jenna Molk got the win in relief, tossing two innings with four strikeouts. Kennedy Kay had an effective start, tossing six innings and striking out six while keeping Campbell scoreless for four innings.
The Buckeyes will continue Ohio State Tournament play, facing Louisville at 2:30 p.m. and Campbell at 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Indiana State at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
