COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team (6-12) closes out its home-and-home series with Xavier (6-15) on Wednesday, traveling to Cincinnati to take on the Musketeers at 3 p.m.

- The Buckeyes played at Washington over the weekend, with the teams meeting for the first time since 1990 and the first time since becoming Big Ten opponents.
- Ohio State was victorious in game one, picking up its first conference win with a 10-9 10-inning win over the Huskies.
- Lee Ellis hit the game-winning home run in the top of the 10th inning in game one. Ellis, Henry Kaczmar, Noah Furcht, Dane Harvey and Miles Vandenheuvel led the Buckeyes in hits with two each. Out of the bullpen, Ryan Zamora struck out a career-high five batters and allowed just one hit in 3.0 innings tossed. Lincoln McVicker (0-1) took the loss on the mound, giving up one run on two hits in a third of an inning pitched. Mason Eckelman led the Buckeyes with two hits and two RBIs.
- In the series finale on Sunday, the Buckeyes fell to the Huskies, 5-4.
- Vandenheuvel hit his first Division I home run to tie the score in the top of the ninth inning, and he led the Buckeyes in the game with two hits. Pierce Herrenbruck struck out a career-high seven betters in a 5.2-inning no-decision. He gave up three runs on six hits. Nick Sawyer (0-1) took the loss. He allowed one run on two hits in one third of an inning pitched.
- Furcht leads the Buckeyes at the plate, batting .279. He has 19 hits and 12 RBIs.
- Kaczmar leads the team in hits with 20. He is batting .278.
