COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State baseball team (6-12) closes out its home-and-home series with Xavier (6-15) on Wednesday, traveling to Cincinnati to take on the Musketeers at 3 p.m.

- The Buckeyes played at Washington over the weekend, with the teams meeting for the first time since 1990 and the first time since becoming Big Ten opponents.
- Ohio State was victorious in game one, picking up its first conference win with a 10-9 10-inning win over the Huskies.
- Lee Ellis hit the game-winning home run in the top of the 10th inning in game one. Ellis, Henry Kaczmar, Noah Furcht, Dane Harvey and Miles Vandenheuvel led the Buckeyes in hits with two each. Jake Michalak (2-0) earned the win on the mound. He struck out three and allowed two runs on four hits in 3.0 innings pitched.
- Ohio State fell to Washington, 5-4, in 11 innings in game two of the series.
- Chris Domke had an impressive start for the Buckeyes. He tossed a career-high 7.0 innings and fanned seven batters to tie his career-high. He gave up four runs on four hits in a no-decision. Out of the bullpen, Ryan Zamora struck out a career-high five batters and allowed just one hit in 3.0 innings tossed. Lincoln McVicker (0-1) took the loss on the mound, giving up one run on two hits in a third of an inning pitched. Mason Eckelman led the Buckeyes with two hits and two RBIs.
- In the series finale on Sunday, the Buckeyes fell to the Huskies, 5-4.
- Vandenheuvel hit his first Division I home run to tie the score in the top of the ninth inning, and he led the Buckeyes in the game with two hits. Pierce Herrenbruck struck out a career-high seven betters in a 5.2-inning no-decision. He gave up three runs on six hits. Nick Sawyer (0-1) took the loss. He allowed one run on two hits in one third of an inning pitched.
- Furcht leads the Buckeyes at the plate, batting .279. He has 19 hits and 12 RBIs.
- Kaczmar leads the team in hits with 20. He is batting .278.
- Furcht, Ellis and Eckelman are tied for the team lead in home runs with three each. Eckelman leads the team in RBIs with 18.
- Lee Ellis has scored a team-high 15 runs. He also leads the team in stolen bases, swiping seven bags on eight attempts.
- On the mound, Domke (1-3) leads the pitching staff with 28 strikeouts in 21.2 innings pitched.
- Gavin Kuzniewski (1-1) has tossed a team-high 23.2 innings. He has fanned 26.
- Former Buckeye Clay Burdette leads the Musketeers at the plate, batting .391 with 18 hits, three home runs and 14 RBIs.
- Infielder Eddie Peters leads the team in hits with 20.
- Infielder Josh Stonehouse has a team-high 16 RBIs.
- On the mound, Ryan Piech (2-2) leads the Musketeers with 33 strikeouts in 24.0 innings pitched.
- The Buckeyes return to Bill Davis Stadium for a three-game series against Butler Friday, March 20-Sunday, March 22. Ohio State will celebrate Senior Day prior to the start of Saturday's game and Sunday's matchup will be the Buckeyes' annual game in honor of Zach Farmer.
