COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State junior catcher Mason Eckelman has been invited to the 2026 MLB Draft combine, announced by Major League Baseball and USA Baseball this week.
The MLB Draft Combine will run June 23-26 and be held at Chase Field, the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, in Phoenix, Ariz. The top 300 MLB Draft prospects, as identified by MLB clubs, have been invited. The combine will feature 335 overall draft prospects, which includes 195 college players.
Eckelman had a career-best season for the Buckeyes. He batted .304 with 59 hits, 15 doubles, four triples, eight home runs, 47 RBIs and 42 runs scored. He had a .968 OPS. Eckelman was an All-Big Ten Third Team selection.

The combine will provide an opportunity for players to participate in a series of medical and performance assessments as well as educational programming designed to prepare them for careers in professional baseball. All players will have the opportunity to participate in a pro-style showcase workout, as well as strength and performance assessments.
MLB Network will provide coverage starting at noon Eastern on June 23 as players participate in their showcase workouts. The Draft Combine workouts on June 24 will be streamed across MLB's digital platforms.
The 2026 MLB Draft will take place July 11-12 in Philadelphia.
