Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- This weekend's series against the top-ranked Badgers is Ohio State's second of three straight top 10 WCHA series. The Buckeyes swept No. 9 Minnesota Duluth last weekend and host No. 3 Minnesota net weekend. Ohio State is 19-3-0 against ranked teams this season.
- Ohio State is ranked second in the country for the eighth straight week and is second in the WCHA standings with 55 points, two points shy of Wisconsin.
- Hailey MacLeod was named the national and conference goaltender of the month after going 6-0-0 in January for the Buckeyes. She earned five of her six wins against ranked opponents and recorded two shutouts. The senior is second in the conference this season with a 1.50 goals against average and a .882 win percentage in goal for Ohio State.
- Junior captain Joceyln Amos has a goal in five of the last six games for the Buckeyes and seven goals in the last four games. She is the highest scoring player in the country over the last two weeks. Amos is the third Buckeye to hit the 30-point mark this season with 16 goals and 14 assists on the year. The Ailsa Craig, Ont. native is a key piece to Ohio State's nation-leading faceoff performance this season, winning 344 faceoffs for a .662 win percentage at the dot.
- Senior alternate captain Sloane Matthews is on a five-game point streak with seven points in the stretch.
- Both Ohio State and Wisconsin are without five players on their 2025-26 rosters because of the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. For the Buckeyes, Joy Dunne, Mira Jungåker, Jenna Raunio, Hilda Svensson and Sanni Vanhanen will play for their respective countries. There are 12 Buckeyes competing at the games, including seven alumnae. The total is tied with Wisconsin for the most representatives in women's hockey by an NCAA program at this year's Olympic games. - In recent years, the series between the Buckeyes and Badgers is no stranger to high stakes matchups with the last three national title games coming down to the two teams.
- Ohio State looks to earn its first conference points against the Badgers this season after falling 1-2 and 1-6 in the meetings between the teams in Columbus in December.
- In its first series playing with just 13 skaters, Ohio State swept then-ranked No. 9 Minnesota Duluth at home.
