Four to Captain Buckeyes in 2026-27

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's hockey team will be captained by senior forwards Jocelyn Amos and Joy Dunne, junior defender Mira Jungåker and junior forward Jordyn Petrie in 2026-27.
Amos and Dunne will wear the "C" while Jungåker and Petrie will serve as alternate captains.
All four players are leaders for the Buckeyes both on and off the ice. In addition to their success while in the Scarlet and Gray sweater, this group of captains have all earned Ohio State Scholar Athlete and WCHA All-Academic Team honors for their work in the classroom.
Amos, a second-year captain for the Buckeyes, is coming off a career-best junior year during which she recorded 22 goals, 26 assists and 48 points in 37 games played. Last season, she became the 21st player in program history to hit 100 career points and sits at 123 for her career entering the 2026-27 campaign. Amos is one of the best players at the faceoff dot in the NCAA, finishing second in the country with 539 wins. Her .640 win percentage at the dot helped Ohio State to the best faceoff win rate nationally last year. The Ailsa Craig, Ontario native also captains Hockey Canada's National Development Team.
Dunne is a captain this season after wearing the "A" last year. A 2026 gold medalist, Dunne is set to begin her senior campaign after leading the Buckeyes the last three seasons in goals. She 27 goals and finished with 51 points in 31 games in her junior season. Dunne is also a two-time Patty Kazmaier Top 10 Finalist. The O'Fallon, Mo. native was named the WCHA's Preseason Player of the Year this season and has been on the postseason All-WCHA team all three years of her career. Dunne leads active NCAA players this season with 80 career goals, good for third all-time in program history.
Jungåker is the team's most veteran Buckeye on the blue line this year. A consistent leader in the Buckeyes' defensive line, she returns for her third season after a standout sophomore year that included six goals, 19 assists and 25 points in 29 games. She finished the season with a +39 on the ice and helped Ohio State's defensive unit hold opponents to just 1.61 goals per game. A 2026 Olympian for Sweden, Jungåker was also named a captain for Sweden this summer ahead of the Euro Hockey Tour.
Petrie is a key contributor as a forward for the Buckeyes. Petrie has missed just one game in the last two seasons for the Buckeyes and has totaled 21 goals and 13 assists for 34 points in her career. The Lincoln, Neb. native delivers in big moments, recording a career-high three points in last season's regular season win over No. 1 Wisconsin and scoring less than a minute into the 2025 outdoor game against the Badgers.
