Ohio State Completes Day One at Pair of Meets

The Buckeyes are competing at two meets for the first time this season.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team competed at the PNC Lenny Lyles meet in Louisville, Ky. and the Meyo Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame today.
The men's distance relay team made up of Chase Basilone, Colin Cernansky, Will McGraw, and Jaxson Eckert earned one of Ohio State's two wins on the day after finishing in 9:57.34. Victor Tornstrom also won the men's heptathlon long jump with a distance of 7.32m/24'00.25".
The Buckeyes have three athletes competing in multi-events in Louisville. Callia Harris is participating in the women's pentathlon in the A division. Victor Tornstrom and Sopuluchi Anosike are taking part in the men's heptathlon. Harris earned 3480 points and placed seventh in the competition with her best performance coming in the high jump where she cleared 1.63m/5"04.35" and finished fifth. After day one of the heptathlon, Tornstrom sits in fifth place after earning 3031 points and Anosike is in 11th with 2692 points. The 60m hurdles, 1000m and the pole vault will be completed tomorrow.

- Women's 60m hurdles: Katie Ruffener registered a season best 8.68 and claimed second place, while Noa Smith recorded a personal best 8.69 and placed third.
- Women's Distance Medley Relay: Aniya Mosley, Sydney Stevenson, Katie Castelli and Smith placed fourth with a time of 1:18.95, the second fastest in program history.

- Men's Pole Vault: Bailey Fletcher recorded a PR and placed sixth in the B division event, clearing 4.67m/15'03.75".
- Heptathlon Long jump: Tornstrom won the event and earned 891 points after jumping 7.32m/24'00.25".
- Women's Weight Throw: Sophie Bidwell secured fifth place after recording a personal best 19.18m/62'02.50".
- Heptathlon High Jump: Anosike cleared 1.94m/6'04.25" and finished fourth.
