COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team makes its final regular season trip to Minnesota this weekend for a two-game WCHA series at No. 13/14 Minnesota State Jan. 16-17. The Buckeyes (19-3-0, 11-3-0 WCHA) and Mavericks (7-12-1, 3-10-1 WCHA) face off at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16 and 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 from the Mayo Clinic HSEC in Mankato, Minn.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Ohio State is second in both national polls this week and second in the WCHA standings. The Buckeyes have 38 points in the league standings, just one game behind first-place Wisconsin.
- Freshman forward Hilda Svensson's successful rookie campaign grows stronger each week. She continues to lead the team with 38 points and 24 assists on the season. She is the leading point producer among rookies nationally, also leading the players with 14 goals. The Oskarshamn, Sweden native is fourth in the country in assists per game and fifth in points per game.
- The Buckeyes' leading goal scorer is Joy Dunne with 19 on the year. The junior forward is third in the country with .950 goals per game. She is second on the team in assists (16) and points (35).
- Ohio State continues to dominate the faceoff dot and is the top ranked team winning 60 percent. Junior forward Jocelyn Amos leads the team with a .650 win percentage. Freshman forward Sanni Vanhanen (.644) and senior forward Sloane Matthews (.602) are also performing at over 60 percent from the dot.
- In goal for Ohio State, senior Hailey MacLeod has started 14 games and is 12-2-0 with a .919 save percentage. She has three shutouts on the year, including one last weekend against No. 15 St. Cloud State, and has a 1.61 goals against average.
- Since the winter break, Ohio State is 4-0-0 with all four wins coming against ranked opponents. The team has only allowed three goals in the four games and is outscoring its opponents, 18-3.
- The Buckeyes are 15-3-0 this year against ranked opponents and four of the team's six remaining opponents are ranked.
- Twelve Buckeyes will represent Ohio State at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan this February. Joy Dunne (USA), Mira Jungåker (SWE), Jenna Raunio (SWE), Hilda Svensson (SWE) and Sanni Vanhanen (FIN) are the current members of the team who will play for their respective countries. This year's Olympics are the first for Dunne, Jungåker, Svensson and Raunio and the second for Vanhanen.
- Ohio State is 90-15-9 against Minnesota State in the all-time series.
- The Buckeyes swept the first series between the teams this season with 5-2 and 7-3 wins in Columbus Nov. 14-15. Sara Swiderski finished the series with six points from the blue line to earn WCHA Defender of the Week honors.
- The Buckeyes return to Minnesota for the second weekend in a row following a series sweep of No. 15 St. Cloud State last week.
- Ohio State posted a 4-0 win in game one, with senior netminder Hailey MacLeod making 23 saves in the shutout for her career-high 12th win of the season. Jocelyn Amos also tallied her 100th career point in game one.
- In game two, the Buckeyes also put up a four-goal differential with the 5-1 win. Sophomore goaltender made 22 saves for her fourth win of the season and Sloane Matthews recorded a team-high three points. Svensson extended her point streak to eight games with an assist.
